Here’s what you need to know if you buy this and you want it to last or if maybe it doesn’t work right.Remove the two short screws over the connector and slide the protective plate towards the connector to remove it, make sure it has enough grease on the metal ‘worm gear’ (mine was completely dry). If yours is dry make sure the grease you use is meant for plastic gears, petroleum grease will not work long term it will degrade the plastic. I used Mercedes silicone sunroof grease which is meant to be plastic safe. If your wiper arms park in the middle of the windshield you will need to remove the small plastic gear thing in the middle (its a press fit on splines, rotate a flathead screwdriver underneath it to walk it upwards), position the arms at their lowest point, then reinstall it with the hump on the bottom of the gear separating the bottom two contacts.Remove the two long screws on the motor housing/Stator. Then remove the baremetal cap on the motor (careful not to pull out the rotor as it could break the brushes), slide the stator off of the rotor while pushing the rotor in (the stator is a strong magnet that will try to take the rotor with it). When you have the stator off inspect all the capacitors and stuff inside to make sure they cant rub the rotor (mine were). Bend them out of the way if they are. If your rotor came out for whatever reason, carefully remove the white plastic caps on the brush housings to remove the springs and retract the brushes. Then it is safe to install the rotor. The fitment of the cardstock gasket on mine sucked so to make it watertight I replaced it with a thin bead of that butyl that’s used to seal where it enters the bulkhead. If you have questions I’ll post this on the turbobricks forum so it should pop up if you copy paste the whole review into google.

Started out a little weaker than the OEM one but functional. Eventually started needed percussive maintenance to complete the cycle. Has now completely failed. I guess it’s not so bad, but it never did perform as well as the factory unit. Now I’m not sure whether to try this again or go with the more expensive one from FCP/proparts Sweden.

The part itself works fine and the wipers came back to life. Seems well made. In any event, after all these years your 240 motor is probably very tired (mine had a HOLE in the motor case). Read online, you may have to jigger the ground strap arrangement depending on your year. Can be a PITA to install, no fault of the part.

1986 Volvo 245 GL, front windshield wiper motor. Fit perfectly, easy replacement. Solved my weak, slow, and eventually nonworking wiper problem.

Inside the motor, two out of the three clips that retain the springs for the brushes failed, causing a short circuit. The inside of the motor melted before the fuse could blow. When the motor failed I took it apart and also found that the case screws were not even hand tight.

1) I hate everything that produced by MTC, they are known for flaws in design.2) This motor is Ronak and I assume MTC just refresh it.3) Works great as supposed to.4) Small thing that threw me off, this motor has external ground wire, while on OEM Volvo 240DL wiper motor the ground is underneath the motor self attaching to a clip, so I just wired this one there.

Great replacement for my volvo 240. My windshield wipers died in a snowstorm. Ordered this on amazon, it was cheaper and was here in two days. Quick and easy install. Would recommend to anyone looking to fix or upgrade their wiper motor.
