I bought this for storing bottles of ink, not ammunition, so I was glad to find that yes, the adjustable rack for holding rifle cartridges can simply be lifted out. The case remains very sturdy and strong for its size. Note that when you remove the rack the bottom interior of the case is not a simple flat plane: it is crossed by plastic "walls" that would be supporting the ammo rack. There are also narrow vertical ridges on the interior sides of the box, to support the rack. So you end up with a slightly irregular quartet of storage wells, divided by "walls" that are 1" and 0.75" tall (front to back, and side to side, respectively). Sorry I don't have calipers handy to give you an exact measurement of any of these spaces or structural elements.

I have a few of these boxes to have dedicated ammo types in one box. Monolithic rounds in one, Match ammo in another, Various hunting cartridges all in one box and an easily labeled lid to keep everything easily identified. And, Made in America, So all in all I highly recommend.

This case works perfectly for loaded 6.5 PRC seated longer than SAAMI spec. Holds cases securely with minimal rattling during transport. Well built and worth the money.

I like how the shell holder is divided into 4 sections. That way I can use this for 4 different loads of ammunition but still carry them all in 1 container. I fill out the loading sticker and place them on the inside of the lid so I can see the info on my loads when the box is open. Great for range day!

Held my 7mm Mag just fine, but for some reasons it won't hold my .303, .30-06, or .308 tightly. It fits, but it won't hold them snuggly...

Ammo Boxes arrived on time. Very well build box. Holds 100 - 300 Win Mag rds with extended OAL. I did drill out all fingers in each hole as I like my rounds base down. Holds the rounds much better with very little wiggle. I have about 1/4" of head room with all cases seated on the bottom of the box. I will use 1/4 " foam adhered to the lid so when the lid is closed all rds are firmly secured. The boxes are sealed well and no dust, dirt or rain has entered the box. I have had several people ask about the boxes and where I bought them

Works great now that I got the Magnum one. The standard rifle one advised it took 338 lapua which was not the case. Oh well now the 3006 has a box too.
