Have not installed yet but tested both the value in ohms and fit in a pick guard and both were perfect! 9.2 Ohms is perfect for a Bridge or mid pickup after your neck pickup. Quality of build is very good and sealed very well as a quality pickup should be. This is a true rail humbucker and not just by looks as some I have come across over the years of building guitars. The price is very good for a high quality humbucker and though I have not installed it yet I did test it for pickup quality using an ohm meter.

Got this to replace the middle pickup in a guitar kit build. This is a major improvement over the stock kit pickup, so that’s a great thing. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound from this pickup and I am quite pleased with the result. It’s got a good tone and isn’t brittle sounding. Good value.

To be clear, what I mean by the title of this review is I feel like a lot of people get rails just because the form factor right, they're small and they're humbuckers and they fit in a lot of places where you can just widen a slot on a strat or on a telly and just throw these in and that's why a lot of people probably buy them. But to be very clear. Dual rails don't really sound like humbuckers. They sound like a super focused single coil like think of it like that. It sounds like a higher output. Single coil but and they don't have the noise of a single coil, but they don't really sound. If you're expecting a humbucker sound from dual rail pickups, I have three different sets of dual rail pickups and none of them sound like humbuckers to me. And that's fine. That's good because I like having that variation of different sounds on different guitars, but to be very clear. If you're getting these because you want a humbucker sound, I recommend a mini humbucker over a dual rail that's trying to do like a humbucker tone. Because really what a dual rail sounds like is it is a humbucker, but it doesn't sound like a humbucker really because the magnetic field is so focused. A dual rail generally sounds like like a really noiseless single coil jacked up to 11 and then run through a clean boost pedal

Most important to know - I have not installed them in a guitar yet. I do a lot of guitar work and work with lots of pickup types and brands so the review is based on first impressions and visual inspection. The pickup is well built - aside from the cheaper, thinner rubber coated wiring, everything else looks quality. The wiring is not a surprise based on the cost - and not a big deal. They come nicely packaged with everything you need to mount the pickup in a pickguard. The edges are smooth and clean and the rails sit nicely in the casing. With cheaper pickups, many times, the rails sit wonky in the plastic, the pickup is covered in wax, or the edges are rough - I have encountered the issues individually and cumulatively in past budget pickups I have worked with - that is not the case with this pickup. Vey nicely made. As I stated, I have not installed the pickup, but I did test it with a multi-meter and it does give a signal. My reading didnt match the description reading exactly, but its very close and thats common - regardless - this is a tribute to a PAF style pickup. I expect that it will give a low-to medium output, darker sound based on the meter reading and its makeup so no concerns on if I will like it. Its a good pickup, especially for the price. I got another one through Vine and I will be purchasing a third to build out my next project. I recommend this for a noiseless, humbucker sound upgrade to your single-coil guitar.

I had gotten a bunch of different pickups to try to salvage a cheap guitar I picked up that ended up having a good body and straight playable neck, just bad electronics. Figured I could use that guitar to learn about modding if nothing else. This was one of my favorite pickups I tried in replacing the super cheap microphonic single coils that came in the guitar. This is bright, warm, and surprisingly aggressive. I like a bluesy clean and this really fits that bill. I tried a number of them, in different build qualities, and this stood right up agains the most expensive ones in terms of sound and tone. I was more than a little surprised at the clarity. In the end, I think on that guitar, much to my surprise, I actually like the single coils, but these really do sound great and am thinking of putting them in one of my Strats.

Update: Originally I gave this pickup 2 stars for being more susceptible to noise than the single coil it was to replace. After further troubleshooting the excess hum resulted from incorrect wiring on my part. The pickup is fine and works as it should. The wire colors are reversed from US standards though which can be confusing. For this pickup green is hot and black is ground. The pickup I received was very noisy for a humbucking pickup. It was noisier than the single coil pickup it was supposed to replace. Even after it when it was connected directly to a 1/4" jack to eliminate other wiring or grounding issues it was still noisy. Other than that it looks good and seems well built. The resistance is about 9.5k ohms as described.
