We have very hard water, and even with a water softener, we get mineral deposits in our plumbing. It is particularly a problem with my Mytee extraction carpet cleaner. This system maintainer works better than any other solution I've tried. Using it as advised on the label results in a lot of particulate matter washing out of the cleaner. (that's good!) I tend to use it sparingly, only because of the cost. If I don't use it, I either spend my time taking the machine apart and cleaning it, or spend really serious money taking it to the repair shop. I'm happy to have a supply of the Mytee system maintainer on hand to use when I really need it. Others will have to weigh the cost of the product vs. how serious a problem they have. In my experience, it helps keep my Mytee extractor running.
