I had the local repair shop install this plate while my truck was having an oil change. Took the tech about 20 minutes to install, and I have no complaints about quality or price. Well worth it!!

Took this to a local repair shop I found through AAA and Yelp and it took them about an hour to install. They said they had to make some screw hole adjustments and things, but overall, it went pretty smoothly for my 2016 Prius. It looks good and very solid and hopefully will deter any theft attempts.. a great peace of mind.

This shield seemed perfect, good quality, but when mechanic went to install it did bot fit. It is ment for a flush mount and the catalitic converter extends below the frame. Can not mount without welding extensions to frame.

After getting notified on my Neighborhood app about 2 differentToyota Prius Catalytic thefts, I started a search of how to deter thieves! Toyota Prius Cats have twice the precious metals and is a main target for thieves! One neighbor reported theft and said the Catalytic Converters are backordered 3 to 4 months!!!! Another neighbor said they recorded a thief that looked under their car and LEFT??? They explained their Prius Cat was stolen in October last year and after $3500 to replace it they installed a Protective Shield. 4 months later a thief was recorded looking under the car, saw the shield under the car and left immediately!!!!I ordered this one because of the adjustable vents underneath. I installed it by myself with little difficulty. Took me about an hour to get the car safely high enough to go underneath and get the drill, screw gun and pop-rivet tool together. I did have to enlarge the holes in the shield to fit the rivets as another review said! Not really a problem. I lined it up and with a marker put a dot to install a self drilling Screw! I then installed another self drilling screw in the opposite side after lining it up carefully. I installed 4 screws to all 4 corners. I removed one screw at a time and drilled out the screw hole with a drill bit and installed a Pop Rivet in each of the 4 corner holes! I then installed self drilling hex head screws in the remaining 4 holes and left them in place! I figured that 4 pop rivets and 4 self drilling screws would be enough to do the job! I hear no noise from the shield when driving or idling when the engine comes on! I live in Los Angeles and may have to remove the shield for Bi-Annual smog inspections starting when my vehicle is over 7 years old. Removing the rivets and screws might take me another couple of hours again, BUT better than spending 3 or 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS!I now have piece of mind knowing that thieves will probably move on and not take the chance of being caught in the act!I noticed one reviewer said he took it to a mechanic to install it, but had to modify the plate to get it to fit!If you look closely the mechanic installed it BACKWARDS!? Make sure if you have someone else install it that you take a picture of the way it is suppose to be installed on this page by the manufacturer!!!

Easy to install and with theft being high with the converters, this has already saved my vehicle from an attempt, that was caught on ring camera.Completely worth it on many accounts!

Shield came with 2 tapping-screws, 4 security screws and 8 rivets, but 8 pre-drill holes is too small for rivet, so I use13/64" drill bit for center two holes assigned for rivets, but 1/8" for each sides.Mine is 2019 Prius C Eco, has no center support bracket ( Toyota 57533-470300), I ordered it from Japan, also asked 4 bolts (Toyota 90119-08D20). So i had intalled this enforcement bar first, then,I used wire to attach shield to the brackets templarly, this make easier to drill first two holes for selp-tapping screw, after that follow the instruction. I heve few expirience on car, this job took me about 2 1/2 hours. Seller suggets install 4 rivets and 4 security screws, I wonder why not use all 8 rivets.

I’m feeling much safer re leaving my car parked especially overnight. Thieves, cannot get at my catalytic converter. It was stolen once and replacement cost was $7000. I don’t want to go there again. The car drives perfectly with the converter protection in place.

This cat shield was definitely very easy to install. It took more time to position the car, and organize the tools than it was to drill and install the actual shield. The holes did need to be honed out a bit to accommodate the rivets but it only added a minute to the project. Visually speaking, it looks well made and I'm sure it'll deter anyone attempting to fandangle you out of an expensive catalytic converter. Be proactive and not reactive.
