Makes excellent milk! It leaves about 160 grams of food pulp. I've increased the richness and reduced that waste down to 30 grams by FIRST running it through my Vitamix for 4 or 5 minutes. Then I pour that into the Nama. The yield is so rich, thick, and creamy that it can be used in place of heavy cream in any recipe. I made quiche with it. However, if simply making nondairy milk for cereal or drinking, only use HALF (50%) of the ingredients, with the full 3 to 4 cups water. Using the Vitamix first, this yields wonderful milk with only 15 grams of food-pulp waste. Basically, you're NOT throwing out expensive nuts, seeds, and beans in lots of wasted food-pulp.

I do not typically leave reviews, but this nutmilk maker is amazing! I cannot believe I have been buying oatmilk in cartons for years. I don't like all of the added preservatives and seed oils; the oatmilk with nothing added is bland and watered down. I'm not a fan of almond milk; however, I just made almond milk with my new Nama and it is SOOO GOOD!! Almonds, water, sea salt and pure maple syrup! The yield is very generous and absolutely delicious. My next experiment will be getting one of these milks to froth for lattes--TBD :) I highly recommend this product and appreciate the thoughtful packaging, and professional design of an outstanding product that I will use daily! Thank you!!

This is my first almond making machine - I am so thrilled to be able to make my own true 'chemical free' almond milk. The machine is well made and works beautifully; and the milk tastes so fresh. I have one small thing to share with potential purchasers. IF you want your milk super smooth also purchased a fine mesh strainer to re-filter your milk before storage. My photo above shows the very small amount of nuts filtered from my 'chocolate almond milk' before storage.Like most people, I am transitioning from store brought milk Silk/Almond Breeze, and it will take a while to get use to the texture of the milk directly from the machine. ALSO, if possible soak your nuts overnight and remove the skins before blending. This helped with the consistency and the milk (directly from the machine) did not taste so gritty. Overall I love the machine and look forward to using it for many years to come.

This machine is a game changer in the arts of nut and seed milks! With the turn of the nob, there is a way to change the time it will grind or it can be set to only spin. Everything seems to be of such amazing quality and comes with a 15 year warranty on all parts! No registration required, just keep your Amazon receipt from the sent email. If you can save for this machine, do it. It is so worth it and will save you money in the long run.

I've been using a Mio Mat plant milk maker since October 2024. I've been very pleased with it but there are some aspects that I felt could be improved. I originally made soy milk exclusively, but then moved to Hawaii and found it difficult to source dried soybeans locally. Finally found some at an Asian specialty foods store in Hilo (the local tofu plant wasn't willing to part with any of their inventory) but it was a lot more expensive, so I switched to almond milk. Then the Nama M1 came available, and I thought, "Awesome! Well-known manufacturer of high quality juice machines, this ought to be good!" I was excited to finally receive it so I could compare them.I was initially skeptical about the stainless steel perforated drum pulp filter in the M1 being able to screen particulates from the nut milk liquid all by itself. The Mio Mat comes with a fine-mesh strainer, but I'd taken to using a filter bag downstream of the strainer because of undissolved solids. Fortunately the M1 filter is much smaller diameter holes than appeared in the product photos; it seems to do a better job of filtering than my bag. From start of measuring ingredients all the way through to final rinse of the machinery, one batch of almond milk on the M1 takes me about 10-15 minutes. That's incredibly fast, compared to the Mio Mat, which has a grind cycle close to 10 minutes all by itself, not including filtering or cleanup. And, the pulp from the M1 can go straight into my bread maker, with no adjustments to the bread recipe needed.Instructions for the M1 recommend about 1 cup of nuts per 4-cup batch of milk. I found the resulting milk to be incredibly thick and creamy, and not really very good for drinking or use in cereal or as a milk substitute. One cup of almonds weighs about 140 grams. My preferred Mio Mat recipe uses 100 grams almonds per 1.2 liter batch (plus one tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract) so I reduced the almonds to 80 grams (kept the same sugar/vanilla amounts) and it came out perfect. One batch of 80 grams dry almonds leaves me with about 75 grams almond pulp in the M1 filter. I put the pulp in my dehydrator, ended up with 27 grams dried almond granules. For what it's worth, I actually made a batch of soy milk in the M1. I soaked 80 g soybeans overnight, then boiled them for 20 minutes and allowed to cool completely, then rinsed and ran them through the M1. The soy milk was okay, but not near as enjoyable as I normally got from the Mio Mat, and the okara was disappointing. So, no soy milk from the M1.The quality of the M1 itself is evident. I'll leave it to other reviewers to rhapsodize eloquently about the virtues of the machinery, but I agree that it is awesome. I can also get good plant milk from my Mio Mat, which is half the price of the M1, but it's not as automated and takes a bit longer. Cleanup of the Mio Mat is slightly easier, in my opinion. However, since I received the M1, I have not used the Mio Mat even once. I guess that says which one I prefer. I don't know that I would have paid $400 for the M1 (thanks, Vine!) since I already had a plant milk maker I was happy with, but I don't think I would have regretted buying one for full price if I didn't have the Mio Mat already.

Baby…this machine made me very happy. I’ve been making nut milk for quite some time (soak nuts, but bag, bowls, strainers, blenders, etc.). But this machine is a game changer! My nephew usually comes by to get some. But I think I’ll send him one of these machines for his birthday. Easy peasy! He’s gonna love it too🥰
