Replaced the output seal on my 2007 GMC Canyon. Old seal came out with the use of a screwdriver. No special tools required. Used a large socket to install. The drain and fill plugs are very tight on the transfer case. With a little extra muscle, they will come out. The replacement oil in the transfer case is a synchro mesh gear oil. Amazon sells it.

For 1st gen GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado 4x4 trucks equipped with the Isuzu T150 transfer case, this is the correct output seal you need for the rear driveshaft.I like the design of these seals, you don't need any fancy seal puller since the seal flange protrudes out around the perimeter of the tcase.Simply slide the driveshaft back and out of the way after unbolting the rear ujoint, then use a simple chisel to tap the old seal out. The new one taps in very easily.Holding up well so far, my transfer case is leak free. Will update if it fails prematurely.
