About this item

  • OBSERVE THE MOON AND MORE: This beginner telescope has a 50mm aperture that is ideal for Moon-gazing. With this refractor, observers can enjoy inspiring views of lunar features like craters or the ridges and dips along the terminator line. It is also a great size for exploring other bright night sky treats like the stunning Pleiades star cluster.
  • GREAT FOR TERRESTRIAL VIEWING: While waiting for stargazing to start, you can use this refractor for nature watching and viewing distant landscapes. ALWAYS keep sun safety in mind when viewing during the day and be aware that observing targets will appear flipped right to left like they would in a mirror due to the nature of optics.
  • MULTIPLE MAGNIFYING POWERS: Two eyepieces are included to add versatility to your viewing. When combined with the telescope’s 360mm focal length, the 12.5 eyepiece will give 28.8 magnification and the 20mm eyepiece will give 18x magnification.
  • GREAT TELESCOPE FOR KIDS: This beginner refractor is designed with family fun in mind. Junior explorers can easily operate the telescope using the large focus knob and simple panhandle mount control. In addition, the included tripod is height adjustable to accommodate the whole family.
  • A WORLD LEADER IN EXPLORATION: The National Geographic name means you can be assured of quality construction and thorough support after the sale from our team of customer service representatives located in Springdale, Arkansas.

Both this for my son graduation because he is inlove with the planets. Very disppointed when we used it to see the moon. It is very hard to focus the lens and it is not easy to use. I never had a good view of the moon. It is not worth to buy it.

I really enjoyed this telescope. It got me into the hobby of astronomy. It’s not perfect but it gets the job done. The picture I took came out amazing with a little tweaking on my part. I definitely got my moneys worth. As well as this I will get different telescopes!!

My child got this as a present. They must have a drunk guy designing this. You’d swear this is a pair of drunk goggles. I couldn’t get a clear image out of it after an hour of trying using different objects and lenses. Great for letting a child know what it’s like to feel drunk. If you’re going to make products for kids have the common decency to make them work properly or just don’t make them at all if it’s just going to waste our time and disappoint our kids with your Chinese garbage.

My 6yr old son received this one as a birthday gift at the party; I had my doubt at first due to its cheap built but we still take it out to front yard for a try. The result is AMAZING!!! It only takes me less than 5 mins to aim and adjust the lens (12.5X) before bright moon and its craters appeared in the viewing field. My son yells....wow...it's MOON! Patience people, you need patience...

Very easy to put together and if you've never used a telescope before it's fun seeing the moon on a clear night. Not sure why others say it doesn't work. Took this pic of what you see through the telescope. Looks even better in person since it's difficult taking a pic without a phone mount. Fun starter telescope for kids.

Bought this for little girl beginner astronomer and it’s garbage. I figured it would work perfectly in a full moon on clear night and it doesn’t. All we got was bright blur. It’s no good. Can’t see anything. Kid was disappointed l, we used our iPhone and could zoom in better.
