It goes up and it goes down. Not much needed mor than that. Doesn't seem to be getting rust on it either.

Bought to keep shed door open - tricky as bottom of the door is a long ways from the ground. I like the fact that it comes with a stowaway cradle when not in use - hard to believe some don't. So far it's held up well, even in 25mph winds when the kids leave the door open. For the price 10/10 would buy again.

The first box I received was badly damaged and crushed. Inside there were only the 3 small mounting brackets, no screws and the main tool, the cane bolt was missing. I returned the original damaged manufacturer's box in Amazon packaging as is and requested another shipment. The second shipment was perfect, nothing was missing inside the box. I installed this hardware on my shed door to keep it securely open because my backyard is in a strong wind corridor. 100% satisfied.

The rod is easy to install and a lot stronger than the one I was replacing. The length is just right for any depth you wish.
