I got the sundial today and I am so disappointed. Had I not already given my friends a card with a photo of their gift, I would return it. This is not a $100 handcrafted heirloom sundial. It's a $40 trinket you might buy at TJ Maxx or Ross Dress For Less for $19.99.The base is barely as thick as a pencil, the craftsmanship is obviously NOT handcraft. It's VERY lightweight, about the size of a luncheon plate and the surface that is painted red is extremely rough and not even fully covered in red paint. The polished brass outer rim has machine marks on it as does the gnomon (the piece that stands in the center and casts the shadow on the dial). The polished brass is also rough to the touch and just looks cheap. This sundial does not in any way look handmade, it looks second hand. It's a decent sundial, but not even close to the description in the ad, and certainly not worth the $90 -$100 after tax is added.

This is a very cool looking item, and looks nice in the garden. But you shouldn’t plan to use it as an actual sundial. The gnomon was attached at a weird angle to the base. I sent it back for a replacement, and the replacement was attached to the base at a different weird angle. I kept that one because, when it’s by the garden on the ground, you don’t really see the weird angle, unless you bend down and look closely. I would not buy another one of these because of the poor quality of the manufacturing.

This is a sweet looking sundial. It has a little bit of weight to it, not a whole lot, and is about 8" in diameter. I would have appreciated a larger piece for the money, but for it being unique, it won me over to spend the money. It's not easy finding a 30th wedding anniversary gift.I will say that the gnoman was lose, even with tightening the screws, it still wobbles a lit.All in all, cute piece.

I bought this for my partner’s 20th wedding anniversary. They loved it and took it right outside 🤣

It is price, yes, but 40 years of living and loving the same person is priceless - so mind that in a comparison of price to the meaning behind this gift. Now that we get past that, look at the gorgeous work that you get. It is truly unique. Think about what 40 years of marriage means with this particular one. That is a lot of time, and both representative and cool is the fact that it is a sundial.Just make sure if you are gifting this, get this sent to yourself as the second picture is the packaging. It got the job done, which is the most it important part, but that is definitely not the way that you want to gift it.I just wish they would add a little closed off section with the actual example of what the wedding date is. Well, for wood, they have that covered and if there is a "watch" one then that one is covered as well. But this is a "Ruby" anniversary and though the coloring is nice, if there was a small glass-covered compartment with a small ruby in it - that would make me forgive any issues with this and make it a grand-slam.
