As you can see in the pictures, one image of the tree has no filter and the other has the 1/4 strength Black Mist filter. You can see that the sun is much softer with the filter attached. The first time I used these I was disappointed, but it turns out that I was just using it on a lens that doesn't lend itself well to this type of filter. I was using a 100-500mm zoom lens with the 1/8 strength filter attached. At 100mm it worked great, but when I zoomed all the way in to 500mm, none of my pictures were in focus. I was disappointed and worried until I realized that maybe it was the zoom range of the lens and not the filter itself.Yesterday my wife and I went to a local botanical garden and I put the 1/4 strength filter on my 100mm Macro lens to test it out and it was beautiful! No color cast, gorgeous soft light yet still retaining details of the delicate flowers and all of the pictures were in focus. This will probably be permanently attached to my macro lens...although I can't wait to use it for portraits.I have the 77mm set since that's the thread size of my largest lens, however my macro is only 67mm so I have a step up ring to make it fit. This is an incredible value for a set of Black Mist filters. Be sure to read-up on the difference between black mist and pro mist filters to see what's right for you. The short version is pro mist filters soften all the light including shadows, black mist filters are designed to keep the shadows intact as much as possible. Black Mist is the way to go in my opinion.

Nice filter from one of my favorite budget brands. The BPM gives just a tiny bit of softness and halation. Perfect to imperceptibly lessen wrinkles and reduce moire. I use it often for interviews and it provides the desired effect without the over done stocking on the lens look. I like that this inexpensive kit includes 2 filters which can be used separately or stacked.Very happy

I'm rarely disappointed in any photo accessories from Neewer and I've been relying on them for probably more than a decade at this point when I need some goodies on a budget.I have only recently got into video and wanted to dip my toes in the mist/diffuser effect all the cool kids are using, and this does that perfectly. The effect is extremely subtle (as it should be) with each filter used individually, but they can also be stacked when you want a bit more of that 80s dream quality. But okay, it's still not as bad as that cliche Vaseline-smeared lens look. The glass is flawless and the metal ring is what you want from a filter you plan on having for years and actually putting to work. The effect is exactly what I expected, and I like that the set includes multiple, stackable strengths. The included storage solution is just a standard frosted clear plastic snap case. I much prefer the ballistic nylon velcro folding cases, so while the filters themselves are untouchable at the price, I would have liked to have seen a bit more in the way of packaging and storage.

This is a set of 2 NEEWER 77mm filters; one 1/4 and one 1/8 strength. With the filters on, they provide a softer and dreamy effect to the photos. The fit the 77mm lens perfectly and are easy to screw on and off. Also nice to have 2 filters with different strengths or for multiple lens.

NEEWER 77mm 1/4 & 1/8 Black Diffusion Camera Lens Filter - basically identical to the classic tiffen black pro mist. set of two filters, provides a dreamy/softening effect to photos and videos straight out of camera. if you are a hobbyist photographer, you need these!

This is a great two pack of pro mist filters. There’s both a 1/4 filter and a 1/8 filter. I’ve used both extensively but I found the 1/8 tends to be my favorite. Both have a nice softening effect on any lights in the scene, but for my taste, the 1/8 seems to look the best. Also, what I like about both of these is they don’t create any type of weird color cast on the image. Overall, I’ve been really happy with these. Highly recommended.

The lens is great for outdoor photography. The lens filter serves as a great way to protect your lens in rain and snow. The filter looks very good and gives a cool dreamy effect.

These black diffusion filters work great for my portrait photography. There are two strengths, 1/4 and 1/8, to get more or less of the diffusion effect. The glass is clear with a good amount of blur to create the black diffusion effect, so it softens the skin and creates a nice halo as well. The filter threads work well also, and screw on and off very easily. What's also nice about receiving 2 different strength filters is that you can have one filter on one lens, and the other on another lens, to make switching between them even faster. Overall, I am very happy with these, and the way they soften my models skin is great.
