Fuel Tank Replacement And Cleaning
1) Removal. -Disconnect the fuel line, and drain the gasoline with the shut-off valve opened to the reserve position. Remove the hood. Remove the tank from the hood assembly.
2) Cleaning. It is advisable to remove the fuel shut-off valve, by unscrewing the assembly, when cleaning the gasoline tank. Clean the sediment bowl, screws, and valve passages as required. Clean the fuel line to remove any foreign material.
3) Installation. Screw the fuel shut-off valve into position in the gasoline tank., Mount the tank in the hood assembly. Install the hood.
Tip: We recommend proper installation to avoid problems such as leaks.

Installed filled with gas to check for leaks did not leak on day of repair or while running. Shut fuel off as I do everyday and next day came to fuel soaked lines and ground. fuel was shut off but valve failed to stop fuel from going to carb and the seal on sediment bowl is leaking now. Everything is tight as it should be.

Nice clear bowl. There are 2 screen filters that go in the tank and it look like a finer filter in the bowl. Works good.

I have a 1948 ford 8N and this was a "drop-in" replacement. There are 2 possible options for the gas-line hookup, one on the side and one on the back. Quality is close to, or same as the original part. My old gas valve, 1948 original, was completely plugged and the tractor wouldn't start so I had to replace it with this new one. Once the tank was emptied, it was a 10 minutes job and the tractor restarted as hoped and expected.

Bowl was as advertised. Wouls have given it a 5 rating but is has a small leak at the gasket. Maybe it will stop leaking once it is seated. Good product

Leaking fuel into the carburetor when turned all the way in to the closed position. Second one I bought from Amazon and no better than the first one
