These flying discs are easy to throw and easy to catch. The material is not very soft. It's comparable to traditional frisbees, potentially even harder/stiffer material. But the shape makes it easy to catch these. These have a less side movement so it's easier to rally with this flying disc.

My kids have taken this Nerf "soft" flying disc outside to play with a couple of times so far (the weather is pretty iffy right now) and they're having a lot of fun with it while they practice their throws (and catches). It's not soft in the sense that I would allow this disc inside my house unless I had a space with nothing in it, but it's not really hard plastic either. I'm not convinced that the more rubbery edges would save a kid from experiencing any pain if they were to get whacked in the face either lol, but I'm sure it's still softer than some of the alternatives. I was expecting the whistle to sound like the whistle on my son's Nerf football, but it's not as loud and it's a little bit harder to achieve with the disc than with the football (or maybe we have bad throws..). My kids have been having a great time throwing it around regardless, and they don't seem to care much at all about whether or not it whistles every time they throw it.

This is a great flying disc. It brought me back in time to the old vortex footballs that I had as a kid. It is a bit different in a disc, but it works. It is relatively soft compared to a normal frisbie. It is easier to catch and less painful to miss a catch from. I like the disc a lot. My kids actually are able to throw it better and more accurately than normal frisbies... not sure why. I like the product a lot and we have gotten some great use out of it.

Great for kids. I ordered this as a gift to take on our beach vacation. Good for travel since it's lightweight. Feels sturdy and my 4 year old loved it!

I received this as a free product and I mistakenly did not look further than the title on this item. It said soft flying disc so I assumed it was one of those fabric type flexible discs. It’s not. This is not soft. It’s basically a normal stiff plastic frisbee with an open center and little whistles built into it. Do not use it indoors unless you like breaking and knocking over stuff. Otherwise, it’s a perfectly reasonable outdoor frisbee alternative, albeit a rather noisy one.

Despite foam being ubiquitous to Nerf, this is actually made from plastic with a rubbery coating on the top and is more rigid than you may expect. It is lightweight, just not soft. When thrown, it makes the advertised howling/whistling noise, however it's not loud enough to be overly annoying to others in the vicinity.Mine tends to hook right, but that is almost certainly due to my terrible throwing form. This review was for "Nerf Kids Soft Flying Disc - Sonic Slinger Indoor + Outdoor Flying Disc Toy for Kids - 11" Inch Tossing Disc - Super Lightweight Disc for Indoor + Outdoor Use - Howls When Thrown"

Thought it would be soft, I don’t want my young kids knocking each other out with this if they happen to nail a solid toss. It’s okay, we have other similar and I do prefer those.

The flying disk looks good, easy to throw and goes distance but not always as expected, sometime it deviates from the path but that could be due to wind or the way its thrown. The material of of the disk is not that soft so it does hit the hand. The color is what it makes it unique, always visible.
