Good fix for an irritating problem of the tools dropping in my face. Thank You!Btw, make sure to push the socket part solidly into the trunk lid metal socket. If you do it correctly it should make a solid click as it goes in. At first I did not seat it properly and had an issue, but now that I got it solidly installed no issues for several months.

I had a strange issue occur. Instead of the screw and nut, I got 2 screws and no nut, which seems to be a very careless mistake. I give the review 3 instead of 2 or even 1 stars because I assume once this is sorted out it will be fine, but if I have a problem with the nut (or 2 if they decide to give me 2 of those next) then I will drop the review. It's a shame because it probably would have been a 5 star review. I pay for prime so I can get an item in 2 days and if I have to wait longer than 2 days for an inconvenience like this then it is a waste of money. I doubt this type of mistake is common at all, but it happened resulting in inconvenience.

Worked as it's supposed to and now the door doesn't drop down in my wife's face when she opens her trunk.

I was surprised that the thumbsrew broke off in the threads today after only being installed for a few days. Must have been a defect in the molding. I hope if supplier reads this they will send me another - if so I will change my review if it doesn't break.

My thumb screw had been broken for about a year which was extremely irritating (And loud). While I have seen thumb screws for sale for about $4 my problem was that the broken part of the old screw was still lodged in the square plastic part. Digging/drilling it out caused me to damage the piece. It was great to see both together as a package because the screw itself would have been inadequate for my needs. Shipping was reasonable (a buck and a half I believe). The installation took about 3 minutes tops. Thanks again!
