Good product description including number of teeth; perfect match and fit to original Kohler CV16 motor, silent mesh engagement. I went online after my local Husqvarna agent supplied the wrong part and saved $180 on the part alone without labour. Soooo happy!!!

did work on my friends craftsman 17hp driving mower. this fit perfect, and it doesnt have that rough metal on metal sound when turning over the engine. i think this is due to the plastic ring below the teeth which protects the spiral metal shaft. the other starters have a loose metal ring. cranks brisk, sounds more pleasant.

So, I found myself on a quest to purchase a lawn mower starter at the request of my husband. Now, let me just say, I know about as much about lawn mower parts as I do about rocket science—absolutely nothing!My husband said, “order the starter if you want me to fix the mower.” Simple enough, right? I thought I was ordering a key or something. But nope, turns out it’s a vital component! So there I was, staring at a screen filled with options, wondering if I was supposed to be looking for the one with the prettiest packaging. Spoiler alert: none of them are pretty!After much scrolling and second-guessing, I clicked “buy” and waited for what felt like an eternity for this mystery item to arrive (it was only a day thanks to Prime). When it did, it looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. I held it in my hand, thinking, “This? This is supposed to make our mower work?”Fast forward to installation day. My husband was working magic while I stood there, utterly lost. I watched him tinker with our mower like it was a complicated puzzle, and I was just the confused observer, hoping I didn’t accidentally buy the wrong part that would turn our mower into an oversized paperweight.In the end, the mower roared to life, and I felt like I had just participated in an Olympic event. Did I understand what just happened? Absolutely not. But the mower started, so I guess it was a success!If you need a lawn mower starter and you have no idea what you’re doing (like me), just know it’s a bit of a gamble. Will you get the right one? Who knows! But if it makes your husband happy and your lawn look good, it’s worth it. 10/10 would buy again.
