This was a direct replacement for the original switch. Some care is required in removing the old switch from the trim panel, as the retainers are thin plastic tabs. Be gentle. I used a smallish flat screwdriver to ease the retainer away from the side of the switch so that the tabs could get past. Reinstallation was simply pressing the new switch into position until the tabs get past the retainers. Reinstall connector, test functionality and reinstall switch trim panel.

I put this into a 1999 Silverado extended cab, and the switch color really is black and doesn't match the original grey (couldn't find a grey version). Lights up nice and bright. I had to open the long side of the L-R switch hole slightly to allow the selector rocker switch to move freely. Otherwise it works perfectly and would have got 5 stars if it had fit perfectly.

Very easy to install and immediately works!The color of the switch is the same as the original equipment, and the fit was perfect. I recently replaced my 24-year-old original side mirrors and determined that the original switch was bad also. Replacing the old switch is as easy as popping the switch bank out of the armrest, removing the wires from the old switch, using a small flat-bladed screwdriver to pop the old switch out, then pop the new one in, hook it up, and finally put the switch bank back. It's a very painless process!One note is that it lights up! I didn't realize that. I've attached a terrible picture, but you get the idea.Buy with confidence.

Great replacement for my worn out original part. I didn't realize they light up lol. Simple to install, looks great. I did have to relieve the original hole just a bit to allow L/R switch to function correctly. Now it functions great.

The mirror adjustment switch on the driver’s door finally gave out and needed replacement after 22 yrs.I was thrilled to see that the new switch (aftermarket) looked identical to the OEM switch. It is Plug and Play! Simple installation, took less than a few minutes, take care removing the old switch as these plastic parts on the OEM control window cluster may be brittle. The new switch will snap into the slotted tabs. The new switch fits perfectly and most importantly worked perfectly. The pic shows the new aftermarket switch in place. Can you tell the difference? Now let’s see how long it lasts.Yes I recommend this item.
