I will continue to bring my own pillow when camping because I'm a difficult sleeper and didn't find the inflatable one comfortable, but there are a lot of reasons why an inflatable could be a great choice for you! The main two are space - this takes up SO little space and can be packed along with your sleeping bag or tent - and cleanliness - an inflatable is easy to clean and doesn't absorb moisture or hide critters.

Great pillow but some claims may be misleading. It's self-inflating, but you may still need to add air. It is a lightweight and compact enough, just not for backpacking or mountaineering, more like regular camping or travel. The shape is ergonomic, although when fully inflated it feels hard. The pillow surface is soft but still feels a bit like rubber, so I recommend a pillow sham. The valve system is good and holds the air well. Overall a good value.

This is a generously-sized packable pillow that would be best for situations where weight and size are not a concern. While this pillow is certainly backpack-able, I would make a different choice for that style of camping. This pillow is easy to inflate, feels good to the cheek when lain upon, seems plenty tough and durable, and comes with a patch kit, just in case it springs a hole somewhere along the way. No problems or issues, Night Cat consistently puts-to-market high quality camping gear. Great product! Recommended!

This pillow is comfortable, and I like it - but it's not for backpacking IMO. It does not pack down that easily, and the 'elastic' that secures it in a roll just lets it expand to essentially fill up the packing bag. It should have come with some kind of velcro cinch strap that you could really suck it down tight with to get it in a smaller pack sack. As it is, this pillow is essentially the same size as my backpacking air mattress when it's packed down. I have other backpacking pillows that stuff down WAY smaller, so this fails there. For car camping I would probably call this one a 4 star pillow (still loses a star due to difficulty getting it back in the stuff sack).

I put this in the same bag that I keep my air mattress for camping and it's very convenient that I always have a pillow with me when I go camping now, the other nice thing I like about this pillow is I can blow it up to exactly how firm I want it to be!

This pillow is a great travel or camping pillow. It does self-inflate, but if you want firmness you'll have to blow it up the old fashioned way, so not 100% self-inflatable. It is pretty comfy though, and that's due to the foam inner of the pillow. Overall a solid choice for travelers and campers, so I recommend. The only downside is it is overpriced being the size it is.

This pillow is comfortable and works well for camping, but the "ultralight" claim is a bit of a stretch. When deflated, it’s about the same size as my ultralight tent, which makes it far from compact. If you're trying to save pack space, this might not be the best choice. That said, it’s a solid pillow for comfort—soft, supportive, and easy to inflate. If weight and size aren’t your top priorities, it’s a good option. Just don’t expect it to live up to the ultralight hype.

I got this for backpacking as I thought it might be better than my old inflatable (but not self-inflating) pillow. I attach some pictures to compare them (new 'Night Cat' on left, my old pillow on the right).Pack size: The Amazon ad says it packs down to the size of a soda can. Not even close! My old pillow does pack down to the size of a soda can, but this one is at least 3 times larger, more like a 1-gallon jug of milk. See pictures.Inflating: Night Cat self inflates to about half or three quarters, and then it takes 3 or 4 additional puffs to finish inflating. Although this is slightly easier than inflating my old pillow, it takes longer because the self-inflation step is a bit slow.Comfort: The Night Cat has a foam fill so perhaps it's a bit warmer. Also it's sculpted from front to back, which I like as I can put the thicker section under my neck for better comfort (it's similar to the pillow I use every night in my bedroom). However, if you like thick pillows you might be disappointed as this one isn't very tall.Bottom line: I will not be using this for backpacking as it would take up too much space in my pack. I suppose it would be Okay for car camping but in this case I would probably just throw a regular pillow in the car and avoid the hassle of inflating the pillow at night and repacking it the next morning. The minor space savings is not worth the extra trouble.
