Constantly striving to add to our survival packs and night vision is one of those things that while not necessary is still great to have on hand just in case. We've reviewed a few pairs of these and of the pairs we've reviewed these are one of the better pairs. Do note however these are essentially similar to older video cameras and their night vision in that they rely on external light to see in the dark, thus what is called active night vision. In this case the set has a IR flashlight which shines out and allows the image intensifier to "see" in the dark. The problem is if you're trying to be stealthy, anyone with passive or active night vision will easily see the IR flashlight illuminating the area even though it is typically invisible to the naked eye. True Passive night vision uses only available light to see so there is no identifying IR light to give your position away. That being said quality passive night vision is typically thousands of dollars so none really available at this price point. This unit has a decent weight to it and feels solid in the hand. The buttons are responsive and well placed for easy reach while hold the system. They are about the size of a full size set of binoculars, but one solid piece versus articulating like most binoculars. The view screen has several levels of brightness so easily viewable for most but like other open viewscreens there is no enclosed rubber face interface, so the light reflecting off your face will be visible. Can't say about the battery life as I only used it for around 20min, and it still had plenty of life left in it. The camera and video functions are nice to have but I didn't test them.Overall a nice active night vision setup that it perfect for non-tactical uses like animal viewing, checking out noises in the middle of the night and plenty of others.

First off this device is extremely well made. It has a nice weight to it, the focusing is smooth and the buttons have a firm click to them. The screen is clear and the color is great. Now for the cons. The 25 mm lens does not focus unless you use the provided 5 mm stop down cover. This means the true useful lens area is 5 mm. That's kind of misleading to say the least. Also there is a one second delay from the time you press the button until the picture is taken. (The timed exposure setting in the menu is set to off) This is a new one for me! As for night time photography of the sky this device is useless. I guess" night vision" does not imply astrophotography. Still, this device is well worth the money for what you get.

I opted to get these night vision goggles as they sounded like a cool thing to use to see wildlife. The various outside cameras I have at my house switch to infra-red when it is dark and that is when I see the deer, fox, racoons and opossums all milling around.WHAT YOU GET:**** The googles themselves**** A nice carrying case to support them well, with no jiggling.**** Neck strap for the goggles**** USB stick**** 64GB micro SD card**** Compass on a carabiner**** Lens cloth**** USB cable (C usb to standard)**** ManualHowever my experience with these goggles has been problematic.I CAN SEE IN THE DARKI’m very familiar with digital camera interfaces (literally used to design them) and I get the modes, menus etc. I’m just struggling with what I can see. If I go to my backyard (I back up to woods, though I have some light pollution from the street lights), I can see items in a fair amount of darkness. So I know they penetrate darkness well.BUT THE VIEW IS SO NARROW, I CAN’T ORIENT EASILY TO WHAT I’M LOOKING ATHowever, the narrowness of the view does not even remotely match that of what I can see on a surveillance camera. There seems to be no wide angle. I really have to hunt around to orient myself. What my backyard surveillance camera can see for instance (side of neighbors house on the south - left, to the ground - bottom to the top of a 26 foot hill - top, to half way across my patio - right, essentially 40 feet side to side, 30 feet top to bottom) to what I can see with these goggles (One of the levels of my terraced backyard but narrowed to a few plants - 10 feet side to side 4 feet top to bottom if that much). It’s not uncommon for me to see up to 5 deer at one time with my surveillance camera. I would be lucky if I could see one using these goggles and then I would not be sure where they are. I have pushed the magnification in both directions thinking I’m missing something and still could not get the view I would expect to.WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TO SEE IF THESE WILL DO WHAT I WAS EXPECTINGI have repeatedly picked up these goggles and tried to get them to work the way I was hoping. But, after about 4 sessions of an hour or more, either I’m really missing something or they just can’t get the view I was looking for.

These ITEFDTUTNE Night Vision Goggles were packaged in a hardshell zippered case with a users manual that is printed in full color on heavy paper stock. The manual clearly describes the use of all the features of this product. After studying the menu items and their use, I selected the strongest IR setting and the highest magnification then went outside into total darkness. The flashlight feature was useful to illuminate the area where I was walking. I was surprised to see all the night creatures. There were raccones, opossums, deer with their fawns, (I live in a wooded rural area) and even bats swooping and circling around. At the highest IR power, items about 75 yards away could be identified. Video and photos can be stored on a 64GB TF card that is included, but I had not yet installed the card. Also included is a card reader to computer interface device for downloading files from the TF card. A USB-C charging cable is also included. I am amazed by the quality product that can be obtained at this price point.
