We needed to have a more remote way to control the volume on our powered monitors on stage (duo setting). We’re able to have it located between us so that either one of us can do the adjustment “on the fly”.

The person that says this muffled the sound is wrong. It’s a passive pre amp and a source switch in a little box and has as close to zero impact on the sound as you could imagine.I am very very pleased with this as it does what I want with zero problems. Great quality.

I was able to match my input to output sound to be exactly the same so when I go from CD to Phonothe volume is identical!!!!Perfection...at least so far!!!

Got this so I could run my Fluance turntable and Motu M4 audio interface through my Adam Audio monitors. Very happy with this passive preamp! The volume knob has a nice feel to it when you turn it, and the entire box is translucent so you can see inside – very cool.

Clean, passive and well built. This product has a very specific purpose and it’s the only one of its kind I could find after hours of research. I was hesitant to buy because it was pictured with no white line on the volume knob. I was going to add my own. Turned out it had one after all.Great product. Great value.

As a passive (viz. needs no direct power) this volume controller (Little Bear MC2), does its expected job. Looking through the transparent top you'll see that it is not a complicated equipment yet it is worth it; and It looks very elegant as a small gear (of dimension 15 x 7 cm).And what is its use exactly? Unfortunately, my phono-preamp (Parasound Zphone) has no volume control, and the volume control of the amplifier (Parasound Halo-21) is not easily accessible (being at the rear of the amplifier). And that's when this little volume controller comes handy (Turntable--(via VCR)-->Phono Preamp --(via VCR)--> Volume Controller --(via VCR)-->Switch Selector--(via XLR)-->Amplifier).If there is anything to complain about, fact that the volume knob should turn up at least 90 degrees to make the sound feasible.* Of course when it comes to playing digital music there is no need for this little bear in my system as the volume is controlled by the DAC (--(via XLR)--> Switch Selector--(via XLR)--> Amplifier).

Super happy with this product. There is absolutely no noise. I can raise and lower volume back and fourth quickly with noiseless operation. It appears to be a simple circuit but very high quality especially for the low price!

Product itself looks nicely built, but I'm giving it one star because it is NOT a pre-amp. It does NOT amplify the signal. It only lets you control volume from silent to whatever the loudest output of your source is.I hooked this up between various audio components and my powered/active moniters, hoping to drive the signal louder. Since I have active moniters, I chose this passive "pre-amp", which I sadly found out was not as advertised. This product is just an expensive volume knob, nothing more. You will not get more volume out of your system and you will not make anything sound better. You will only be able to control the volume you are currently hearing without gaining anything. I was very disappointed and misled.

This does what I needed which is a way to control the sub-woofer output level from my Audio/Video Receiver feeding a power amp driving my sub. With my previous AVR, I was able to run the Audyssey room correction setup without problem but with my new AVR it refused to run saying the sub-woofer level is too high. There was nothing I could do about it since I had no level control. With this Nobsound I can easily dial down the level to where the calibration will run.I would give this 5 stars if they would just silk screen some marks on the front panel and a line on the level control knob. It would cost them next to nothing. I used a paint marker to put a line on the knob and the front panel so I can be sure no one has changed it.I don't have any use for the balanced inputs and outputs so they could save some money and make one without those connectors.
