AAO frame
Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan's performance/noise efficiency.
Swappable anti-vibration pads in 6 colours
The NF-A9 PWM chromax.black.swap comes with 4 black, white, red, blue, green and yellow NA-AVP5 anti-vibration pads respectively. By combining the various colours with black or leaving off the pads on one side, the fan can be coordinated with most popular build colour schemes out of the box. Additional NA-SAVP5 sets for outfitting both sides in one colour can be purchased separately.
SSO2 bearing
The NF-A9 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
Flow Acceleration Channels
The fan’s impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.
Optional coloured cables
Noctua’s chromax line fans use a modular cabling system and come pre-fitted with a fully sleeved black NA-EC1 30cm cable. For refined colour coordination, white, red, blue, green and yellow 30cm NA-EC1 cables plus corresponding NA-YC1 y-cables are available separately.
Maximising colour choices, Noctua’s chromax.black.swap edition fans can be colour-customised using the included swappable anti-vibration pads as well as optional anti-vibration mounts and cables. When the fan went out on my 12 year old PC, I looked at replacing the fan with stock, but this one had next day shipping. I am SO VERY glad I ordered this one. I used to have a jet engine next to me anytime I was running more than a few programs at one time. Now, my computer hardly makes any noise. I can feel the amount of heat its pumping out the back side, but the fan itself is so quiet. Would highly recommend this fan.

Replaced stock fans with these in gaming pc. Fan noise is lower and dropped gpu temp by 2 degrees.

I had an old PC that sits about 6-8 feet from me and I couldhear the fans; They were just loud enough to be annoying.I swapped out the stock fans with a couple of these and now it'sso quiet I do not notice it at all. It was well worth the money.The only con is that the attached cord is very short (only a couple of inches)so you have to use an extension cable. Had I known that beforehand I just would haveused the standard Noctura tan and brown fans, since they come with a longer cable.

My CPU was running too hot, so I got another fan to add to my cooler. Sticking it on was a breeze. The cooler was a Noctua, and already had the extra clips needed. This solved my problem of hot CPU.

As expected from Noctua, this fan seems very well built. It runs smoothly with very minimal vibrations and is extremely quiet even at full speed. It was clearly designed more for silence than performance though since it doesn't move a huge amount of air even when running at full speed in open air. I'd say it has about average performance for a 92MM fan with much lower than average noise.It would be nice if this fan had a bit higher maximum RPM in case more cooling is ever needed since it could always be turned down if it's too loud but can't go higher than 100%, but since most people buying Noctua fans are probably mostly doing it for the silence and wouldn't normally be running it at full speed anyways, this wouldn't be a drawback to most of their customers.

The rear exhaust fan on my HP Z440 was noisy and rattly 'AF'.Replaced with this fan. Boom, the noise is gone.Considering it is only a 92mm fan, it's extremely quiet at max RPM.I did cut one of the taps on the cable adapter (using pair of flush/side cutters), with a pair of flush/side cutters.This is due to HP's preparatory fan connectors. However, everything else is 'like for like'.If you're using an HP Z-System, I strongly recommend it.(Also you don't need to google 'Can I use PWM fans on my HP Z...' Yes. Yes, you can)

First pic shows where the two I pruchased are in the case. It's a Fractal Design Node 304. Second pic shows what they're up against. Custom mounted 8x HDD's.The drives stay at 30c closed up in the case with the fans running at about 82-84% and a 72 ambient. They give the drives all the airflow they need.Pricey, but absolutely worth it.

I love Noctual Fans, I replaced the stock Omen Fan with this and it is night and day for the noise level. That little 92mm Noctua Fan is Silent and I have my Fan settings on Turbo through the Omen Dashboard.It has helped drop my temperatures by a few more °The 2 min Stress test through Ryzen Master tops out at 82° now, where before it was 84°But its Way Quieter then it was before with the Stock fan.Easy to install, Very Quiet, Good Value for the Money & it helped Drop my Temp even more.I'm really looking forward to installing the u9 air cooler
