This really works! I have a small area rug in an area where my kitchen, living room and basement steps all join, and that area rug would constantly shift because people are almost always going around the corner from the kitchen into the living room, or going around the corner from the living room onto the basement stairs, or stepping up from the stairs before going into the kitchen. It felt like I was replacing that area rug a dozen times a day. Since I put this rug pad underneath it? I almost never have to adjust it -- two or three times (in 5 days) about one inch of the pad has shown under the rug, which I could take care of by trimming the pad a little. Which, by the way, you can do - the pad can be easily cut to the size you need. Definitely recommend this.

I love this style of rug pad- it gives the perfect amount of cushion, is easy to lay out with virtually no wrinkles even after unfolding and has amazing non-slip grip underneath. It was the perfect size for our rug and feels amazing under our thin, washable rug we put down. This one is a great price for the size and quality you receive!

Works like a charm! Perfect thickness for adding extra comfort to your rug, plus the needed no-slip grippies along the underside. This was slightly larger than I needed, but is easy to trim with some heavy duty scissors. Definitely recommend!

Got this for a 5x8 rug and it fit well without any trimming (almost edge-to-edge on the long sides, and the rug extending 8 inches over the pad on each short side). The gripper bumps seemed high quality, but I ultimately placed them face-up, in direct contact with the rug. This is because I've had bad experiences with plastic bits on rug pads being in direct contact with my hardwood floors.My rug is large enough, this pad is thick enough, and they're both and under enough heavy furniture that I'm not worried about anything slipping around. This pad is not as thick as another felt pad I own, but it's thick enough that I am not worried it will wrinkle under the rug. All in all, I'm satisfied with this product.

We have some jute runners in our hallway that get bunched up every time our dogs run across them excited. We had the thin net type of rug pads that didn't do much to help that.These are much more secure - we can try to push them around but they are really stuck to the floor. Also provides a little cushioning to walk over them. Dogs and owners both like them!

This felt pad is just the right thickness to add a little bit of padding to a thin lower weight rug (like the types here on Amazon that are listed as machine washable). Comes packaged in a box so I had to roll it up for a while to get the folds/creases out of it. The silicone nubs on the bottom side of the pad keep the pad from moving around on the floor (in my case, a laminate wood floor) and the felt top surface not only gives your rug just a touch of additional padding but also helps to keep the rug on top from moving around as well. Depending upon your rug dimensions and how your rug borders “drape” around the edges, the felt can easily be trimmed with a pair of sharp scissors. A great addition (and a safety necessity) for anyone wishing for just a little more padding and the extra safety of a more stable rug on a polished wood or stone floor.

I like having rugs over the high-trafficked rugs in my house. Let them wear down instead of the wall-to-wall rug that I want to last a long time. Unfortunately, most of my throw rugs work best on a solid floor surface and not on a rug. So when I saw this rug that is designed to also work on carpet, I ordered it.I’ll tell you the good news first: It works great on tile or other hard flooring. The little rubber-like pads (sort of like candy dots) grip the surface and the felt of the mat grabs the rug. Everything stays in place. I suspect that it would also work well on rugs such as a hard and flat indoor/outdoor rug.Unfortunately, that’s not the kind of rugs that I have. The kind of rug that I have has a comfortable pile about as thick as my finger (see picture of the rug). My problem was that the pile would bend and drag the carpet with it and then release it as the pressure of my foot was released. The pile would return to its original station, ready to grab the carpet again and move it along. It’s amazing how quickly the rug walked across the room!I had hoped that the rubberized dots would prevent that from happening. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. The throw rug still moved, though not as much. So if you want to keep a throw rug from moving and have a rug with a pile like my rug, don’t get this. But if you want something that will keep your rug in place on a hard surface floor (and provide some nice extra cushioning at that, then this rug mat is just for you!So, how should I rate this? Should I give it a five-star rating because it works great on tile (and this is what I will do) or a three-star rating because it doesn’t work well on my carpet (though it might with yours)? I guess I’m going to assume (and you know what that often does!) that you’re going to read this review and make your own decisions!

I would give this rug pad more than 5 stars if I could! It's perfect! I placed this under a 5x7 rug at my front door. It makes such a big difference over my hardwood floors. It provides some light cushioning and prevents the rug from sliding. It feels so much better as I walk across the rug. A bonus... No odor right out of the box!It's funny how something so simple and so inexpensive can make so much difference! I wish I had ordered this sooner. I will be ordering at least another one for my large living room rug.
