This devices should be very simple to use. it's nothing but a magnetic on off switch. It seem to be very well built and it worked fine for about 5 minutes. There were a couple of problems with my install though that may have impacted this devices.1. the support structure around my door is metal which apparently interferes with the magnetic field.2. after finally getting it installed, it worked a couple of times, then got stuck in the open state the way I had it configured. checking the continuity between the wires. every combination showed some degree of continuity leading me to believe there was some type of short in it. I had it connected to the dry contacts on a aeotec door and window sensor 7 pro. I have numerous other types of dry contact devices tied into these and they work fine and again, testing the contacts on this device produced results other than expected. Testing the dry contacts on the door and window sensor produced the expected results.I removed the device from the garage door and am experiencing the same continuity issue again leading me to believe it shorted out somehow. This has the potential to be a very good device, but right now it just doesn't work, and I believe the issue with the metal garage door may be a show stopper for me.

Made of good quality material. I like the fact that is has both NC and NO functions. Also like that it comes with a bracket which is often needed. Good for when you need a trigger at short distance activation.

I haven't integrated it to the security system yet, but tested functionality and continuity. everything checks out just fine once installed.

This switch is by far the best one of its type I’ve seen. The plastic ones seem toylike in comparison. We have accidentally left garage doors open at night. I designed a simple circuit using a 12 v 1amp plug in transformer going through these switches and some led lights using inactive landline wiring to the bedroom area and the kitchen. It’s easy to see if a garage door is not closed fully with the bright led’s. We also have the MyQ app, it is all too often inaccurate such that I put a WiFi camera in the garage in case I left a garage door open when we are gone. Back to this switch, it is so well made and has a wide range of action that you have more latitude of positioning compared to the plastic switches. This switch is well worth the effort for a more forgiving installation positioning and expected durability.

I actually don't need this for a garage door. However i needed this exact type of thing for a different project that required a robust, strong, and weather resistant switch. The metal feels sturdy but light, due in part to it's shape. The small metal wire shield is nice and allows you to route the wires in a secure location. Furthermore, it has both NC and NO wire leads. The switch is potted nicely so i doubt there will be any issue with water for years to come.Great switch, will probably buy a few more to have for other projects around the workshop

Prix raisonnable.

This sensor is very versatile - the angle-bracket means you can mount on almost any door surface, whichever is easiest. The 3-wire configuration is nice, you can detect a broken/cut cable if your alarm system is capable of that, too. The secure, heavy-duty mounting and armored cable mean this is a rugged, secure sensor that won't be tampered with easily. It's effective at a pretty wide gap, too. Unlike some smaller sensors, you don't have to have the magnet right up against the sensor, so even if there's a gap in the door, you'll be able to sense it. Very good sensor.
