This cover is extremely dangerous. This product should be banned from Amazon. I placed this on my stove put my pot down to cook on medium and it started to smoke. I immediately turn off the burner removed the pot and when I lifted the mat it started to flame. The mat burned right through and melted on the stove. This all happened in a matter of seconds. This product is being sold under false information. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

I really like this but I don't like that it kind of moves around a lot. It's been about a week and the front corner is still lifting. It hasn't flattened out yet. But overall i like it it protects the top.Update: It ripped. Ive hand washed it and left it out to air dry and it stays stained with water marks. I ended up throwing it away and bought a wooden cover top to avoid the rips and stains.

I have a gas stovetop which isn't flat so this product isn't all the useful to me but for electric flat stovetops, this would be a nice addition to a kitchen. This is especially the case if you lack counter space and need additional workspace for prepping food or storage. I've had electric stovetops in the past and I was also afraid of scratching or breaking the glass. Having this cover would have put my mind more at ease when I had to put something hard or rough on top. Even though it advertises that you can use this while cooking on the stovetop, I've never been one to try that. The silicone isn't the most premium quality and I don't know if I trust it being heat all of the time. But other than that, this would be not only great for stovetops but also anywhere else where you want to protect a surface. Overall, recommended for those with flat stovetops.

I really like the look of this on the stove and it makes a great quiet landing spot for drying pots and pans without having to be so careful especially late-night. It is a but thinner than I expected being that it is protecting glass, but I did choose this one BECAUSE the deep grooves on some of the others seemed like haven for crumbs and being hard to wipe up. Also I liked spoon rest in the middle . It does quiet the noise factor and allows the stove top to be used for other purposes the mat itself folds super easy by just grabbing the center hump. We move it to the sink area to catch larger washed items which used to require several dish towels be laid out . The convenience of this is outstanding. Our stove has a microwave above and this mat catches drip and spills nicely. Several times sleepy hands have fumbled dropping coffee cups from the microwave that have crashed down onto the glass top. This is a nice protection against that type of loud startling crash clean up of such spills will be easier. Overall it functions very well in muliple ways in our kitchen and is easy to fold up and move put of the way, easy to clean and definitely it IS protecting the glass top from scratches, crashes, spills and more. It is also a good spoon rest and ingredient mat if you can fit it next to your stove while cooking. It could be a bit thicker but overall we are very happy with it. It's multipurpose use in the kitchen make it a good value, it's definitely MORE than just a stove cover you have to put away to cook!! It is always useful in some part of our kitchen. We have not needed to put it "out of the way" ever just move it to its next useful location.

One end doesn't seem to lay flat, might just need a little time. It's thicker than expected (which is nice as it's not flimsy) yet can be folded and rolled easily if needed. Love the functionality of the surface top.
