I will admit it - I've been cheating and using this with my wax melter.The wax melts clean and smells incredible - you can mix the scents together or use them solo.The scent lasts for a long time, and if I might end up using the candle setup at some point, so far, I've enjoyed just getting to smell a small amount melted at a time.

I wish I would've discovered this new way of burning candles much sooner! I absolutely love this innovative way to burn candles. The aroma is so refreshing, very aromatic & it fills my living room area in just a short period of time. Also, I like that the burn seems much cleaner, and the overall candle burn time seems to be much longer than traditional candles. These candles are beautiful, they smell AMAZING, and overall is just a better quality candle than traditional candles. I highly recommend trying out this new innovative way to burn candles. I haven't gone back to buying jar candles since I've discovered this!

I got this starter kit of the glass container, silicone insert, and two packs of the candle beads with wicks.-The candle refills are all-in-one. You get the candle beads with a wick packed inside with them which is smart.-The putting together of the candle is well-designed and straightforward. The wick goes into the silicone insert from the bottom and then after placing this into the glass container, the scented wax beads are filled into it.-Burns clean. The wax is good quality, as wells the wick. Burns evenly too.-The fragrance is strong enough to fill a room.-A clever way of doing sustainable candles.One thing to note: The wax beads have to be pushed/compacted down a few times while filling. This will give you a better, even burn. There will be a tad of overflow and wax beads wanting to fall off the sides so I recommend doing this on a kitchen counter/work space. It can get messy.Overall, I liked the packaging and the how-to of this candle but there is one primary thing that wasn't clicking for me... I wasn't in love with the fragrances. This starter kit came with the Graphite & Damask Rose and the Santal & Atlas Cedar. They are warm and spicy/woodsy. Nothing wrong with these scent profiles and the fragrances lingered, but they weren't that great. I'm not inclined to try other scents since at least the Damask Rose & Graphite candle would be right up my alley and I barely smelled rose.If you like the sustainable thing and don't mind a little work, this is the candle for you. But I cannot speak to the fragrance profile being good or bad, since that's totally subjective, but for me, I wasn't wowed by the scents.

Wasn’t sure if I was going to like this!! I love it. The scent of the lily & bamboo is fresh. The basil citrus smells fresh too. I should have ordered more!! The scent definitely puts a nice little fragrance in the air!

This NOTES Sustainable Candle Starter Kit in the scents Turmeric & Pumpkin Chai and Vanilla & Pepperwood is such a cool and sustainable idea, practically and whimsically speaking! The glass candle jar is very sturdy, sleek and aesthetically pleasing, albeit a bit simplistic, and the scented wax beads smell heavenly; Our whole family agrees on this point. Inserting the wick and pouring the beads couldn't be easier, and I have had no issues whatsoever with my candle tunneling, drowning the wick, or anything else negative. We are enjoying our candle lit while it sits atop our wood stove most evenings, and it creates a cozy, deliciously Autumnal scented atmosphere. I also love and appreciate that the wax is not made with any harmful ingredients, and that I have another candle to look forward to pouring and lighting once the first is finished.My biggest complaint, is that although these candle kits are wonderful, reusable and so well made, they cost FIFTY-FOUR DOLLARS. I can almost purchase two much more gigantic candles from a very well known American candle company for that price, and when they're on sale, I most certainly can. During these financially straining times especially, I simply cannot and will not afford refills for these candles, as much as I wish I could. And once we are able to, I don't want to spend that much money on something that doesn't give me as much bang for my buck timewise as other candle products do.I really, really love these candles and this idea, they smell heavenly and are fun to boot. But I can't get around that price, and would be extremely more inclined to purchase the refill kits if they cost around $35 or so, at most.
