Super happy to have my Garmin back working! The battery is an excellent fit even though it rattles a bit. Mind you, the original battery would have done the same if it didn't have a sticky pad holding it in place. I'll be securing it with a couple glue dots (not liquid glue) to give the battery more stability.

Pretty straight forward installation with appropriate tools. This battery Did Not answer my question for powering my NUVI GPS.Packaging seemed correct, BUT >>>>>>>>>>>> An adhesive label had been appliedover some other label. I do not believe this is the Original New Power 99 product asshown on Amazon. Also there is no adhesive pad supplied with this part. Therefore, one must improvise orthe battery will easily jostle within the mounting area.Connector clip is a bit tricky to uses, nothing like the video. Please, research carefully before purchasing this product.I will not return, just recycle. I would not want this back in to someunsuspecting customers hands.

I carefully watched the video before purchase and read most of the reviews. I then ordered. Kit was as described and screwdriver with pry bar were quite well designed. Got the case opened with great care and took my time. Case snaps in place so get all four sides popped loose before taking apart. Noticed there was an "extra" wire/thin line holding the case together, and took a while to discover it was a "safety" line to keep you from separating the case halves too far. One end of the safety line pops into a spot on the other case half but isn't a power line, just to hold the case. It comes off and is then popped back in when you are done and securing the case. Now the negative. The only real thing one has to do is pry the battery loose and take off the connector. Prying the battery loose went OK, just go slow and work a blunt tipped plastic screwdriver or similar thing under the battery and slide it around until you get it loose. Its really glued in there, not taped, but the glue works to hold the new battery in eventually. The battery connection was the problem. The problem was the tiny connector, which has two sides which are different. Only one side will connect. It is so tiny its hard to tell one from the other. Take a look with a magnifier before you pry or lift off the old wire and you will see a "push" engraved into the plastic. That's the top. Once you pop it off, look at the new connector to identify which side goes in as there is no "push" engraved on it. As its so tiny, you probably will need to use a magnifying glass to see which side is which. Match it up with the old one and you will know which side is out, even though there is no "push" on it.Once I did that, it still took three tries of pushing the connector and trying the GPS to see if it would work. First two tries it worked on the charger, but showed a red ? on the battery indicator, as it wasn't connected right. Finally took a tiny screwdriver and pushed the top and sides of the new connector firmly enough into the plug area to make sure it was tight. Then it worked. Finally. Finger pressure did not do enough the first two times.Seems to be charging fine now and the battery indicator is showing it is charging. So all appears well. With a little better instructions I could have given it higher rating. That's bad for the seller.

Battery was good but not as good of a charge as expected. New battery lasts for about an hour. I thought we may get 2 hours but it was better than the original battery which was only getting about 2 minutes worth after years of use. Good replacement battery overall.

This adds to the other reviews. The battery works great and is a lot cheaper than sending your GPS back to Garmin. I used this battery in a Garmin 2595. The removal kit is just what is needed. I did not use a hair dryer to loosen the double sided tape that holds the battery to the case. The prying tool worked just fine but take your time and don't force it. Work around all 4 sides of the battery. When removed the and replaced I was able to replace half of the doubled sided tape back in the case to hold the battery in place so it would not rattle. One person had mentioned that a 2 wire connection was not described in the CD video that comes with the kit. That 2 wire connection is for the microphone on the left side of the unit for voice commands. I did not have to disconnect it; the microphone came out of the case so it did not have to be disconnected. ONE or TWO ADDITIONAL NOTES. The ribbon cable connection between the two halves of the case can come disconnected, because it is a snap clamp connector, if the cable is pulled accidentally too far. If it does, remove and replace the new battery before trying to put the unit back together. This actually made it easier to replace the battery. The snap connector has a light colored snap lever. When ready position the ribbon cable in the connector without bending any of the cable wires and snap the lever flat against the cable. A slight snap feeling might be felt and the cable should then not be loose. Start to put the to halves together but be sure the microphone fits back in the case if it came out like mine or reconnect the wire connector before closing the case. The battery connector just snaps in place, by the way and is held in place when the case is completely held in place by the 4 screws. Before putting the 4 screws back in, I powered up the unit to be sure it was now working. Before the battery change it was completely dead and would not power on. Like all electronics, take your time and don't force anything. If your eyes are not the best, you might need a magnifying glass to see what you are doing on the connectors.
