Unless you want to throw your Garmin away. Leave this job for the factory. I watched the video. I carefully started to remove the screen when the screen cracked. This might be a great way to bring life back to an old item, but for someone who doesn’t work in a phone or small electronics repair shop it’s not for the common user.

There are many reviews indicating this is difficult to install and I would agree basically because the installation video does not provide enough information for getting the face plate off. Before trying to pry the face plate out as shown on the video use a hair dryer to heat the entire outer edge of the face plate. There is some sort of sealant that is fairly strong. Immediately after heating run the suppled tool around the seal getting the tool deep into the seal as possible. Reheat then do as shown in the video slowing prying the plate off - soft touch! The rest is simple following the video. Hope this helps!

This product is too difficult for the average person to install.

Well... first, they sent me a battery that didn't stay connected to the mother board, so NuPower sent me a new one with a better connector.Second - the big issue. Their video shows pulling the ribbon cables out. THIS IS UNNECESSARY. The connectors to the board are very fragile and nearly impossible to get the cables back into. If you just take the screws out and leave them screen cabled to the board, you'll save yourself a lot of trouble, and possibly your GPS. If you break either of those connectors, you'll be out of a GPS... don't ask me how I know this.

It seems to be working fine but the battery is not the one advertised so if you cut the wire short you will have to add wire...

This product is very difficult to install. After paying $45 including shipping, you need to buy a wire stripper. The ribbon cables from the screen are impossible to get re attached to the pcb . Save your money. and go directly to Garmin for a $100 exchange.

Abject failure - much more difficult than the video will lead you to believe, went from a poorly functioning Garmin to trash
