The smaller set (1-5/8”) didn’t support the load of an SCBA mask due to the pins being too short. The larger (2”) version works well.

Great and strong. I use them for emergency release on animal and cargo trailers, when seconds matter.

We're not pushing it's limits in any way, but it snaps closed and opens cleanly without excessive force.Stainless steel looks to be clean. And rust free.

One of my shackles had a very skewed hinge pin, but the other looked ok. These are slightly magnetic, especially the plunger. I wouldn't trust them for anything critical or over 60 lbs. Considering a real Ronstan shackle is $26 and these are $6, you probably get what you pay for.

Well made. I use these on the anchor trolleys on both sides of my fishing kayak. They are my anchir quick release. I actually had to use this once as the wind was blowing from side to side, and I lost part of my fishing rod overboard. I released the anchor line and chased after it, then returned to the anchor line float to retrieve that too.

We used these to make a quick release for an underwater balloon to show the force of buoyancy to kids.

I used these to attach gear to a pack strap. I can release these quickly, they seem solid. Win!

This little snap shackle is perfect for holding in place the top of my suet feeder (for a variety of woodpeckers). Easy open, easy close, reliable.
