At least it comes with two of the stickers in case you totally mess it up. I was able to get it to line up and the sticker is forgiving as you position it.Once you get it lined up, I recommend getting out a hair dryer and put it on the lowest setting. I also had a diffuser on mine, so the heat was warm enough to soften the candle, but not melt it. Softening the surface of the candle encourages the design to stick to the candle and loosen from the top layer of film. This is very helpful when you get to the numbers and other details. Plus if you mess something up, you can reposition the sticker on the candle.While the sticker is not perfect, I'm not going to use the second one and try to do it again. I may use it on another candle instead.

This was shipped in a box that was too small for the sheet of stickers, so some of the stickers are ruined. There are duplicates of all of the stickers, so we will be able to piece this together. If you make a candle every year, and has a young one that wants to "help" this would be great. It is all stickers... the images, the sparkles, everything is just a series of stickers. So this makes it perfect for the young kids in the family.... but if you are an adult, this is probably not what you are looking for. That said, the stickers that aren't ruined are nice... bold, clear images, and they have nice details.
