These metal tops look good and fit just fine over 6×6 treated posts, at least the ones I purchased from a well-known big box. I looked locally unsuccessful for 6x6 post caps and was happy to find these very reasonably priced ones.

We installed an 5.5 inch cedar post to attach a new retractable hose reel to. Needed a top cap however, but our local home hardware store did not have any in stock. Amazon had in stock and it was delivered in two days. Perfect fit, and now looks finished!

These are top quality and metal and painted. With a slight tap of your fist they connect easily to the top of the wood post. My local hardware supply store had nothing close to these for quality. What they had was inferior and much more expensive

They do not fit directly over top a 6x6. You will need to trim the ends and I don't think it looks the best like this. I was expecting them to be large enough to not have to shave off wood.

This is a good product but they got scratched during shipping because they were just thrown in a box totally unprotected.

We needed these for our newly constructed streetlight. They fit perfectly, arrived in a very timely manner, and met expectations. However, we feel we "lucked out" due to the poor packaging, which we read about in other reviews. I was willing to take the risk, but also ready to turn around and return them if necessary. Any tiny blemishes in the finish these didn't matter to us in our application. So, all in all, we are pleased with our purchase. If you have a fussier need, beware!

Ordered 4 replacement 6x6 post caps - Delivery was quick and product was well packaged. However, they will not fit over the end of my 6x6 fence posts - too small.- Did not try hammering them on - as some reviews stated they did - visibly too small. Product appears well made, with flat black finish - wished they would have fit - need to return or request a replacement with a product that is truly 6x6.From other reviews it appears there may be some inconsistencies with the size and finish of this product - not sure if they are sourced form different manufactures. Beware - the reviews are good but the size may be too small if you have true 6x6 posts. - Hope this was a supplier anomaly.
