I'm usually a men's medium so I got an XL based on other reviews, it fits very nice and is still decently tight (mainly in the neck, chest and biceps) which is what I was looking for.

The shirt fits fine (I'm 6'2, 190, size XL), it rides up to your neck a little, but its fine for me. My biggest complaint is the screen printing is already cracking and I have only washed the shirt once. I imagine after a few washes the print will be gone, which doesn't affect the use, but is just annoying.

This fits so tight that you feel like the stuffest sausage that's ever been stuffed, even the XL. I'm 5'9" 190 lbs so not crazy big, but man this thing is tight. Designed for teenagers only.

Normally my correct size is a large, properly fitted. Not some lounging fit.Ordered up as recommend to a X-large. It fits like a Large, but with compression as expected.6’1”, 200 lbs

...the XLARGE is equivalent to MEDIUM. Frustrating, and waste of time, money and effort. I normally wear a LARGE, but going from this XL Fit, i wud have to order XXXL....something is very wrong, unless the product size label is mismatched.

I picked this up as my $125+ Garmin HR-Swim (ASIN B012H8IRLQ) chest strap heart rate monitor was starting to see strap failure after only 6 months. The force of pushing off the pool wall each length pulls the monitor part of this strap down no matter what you do, you can make it tight enough that it doesn't slip but the chlorine / bromine and the strap design will combine to see the material begin to give way where the clasp meets and eventually even at the tightest it won't be tight enough to hold and then it will pop. Before that happens, for $30~$40, you can buy a solution in the O'Neill wetsuit rash guard (short sleeve). Then you don't need to over-tighten the HR monitor and the tight compression-style fit of the rash guard ensures that pushing off the wall isn't pulling down on the monitor as you now have substantially decreased your overall resistance with the smooth material of the top.If you've read about fit let me tell you this, I am 6'1" and 220lbs and when I first bought this and tried it on I thought, "Holy freaking Moses, how can this possibly be X-Large????"I looked into the return options immediately but then I was going swimming the next morning and thought, heck, why not give it one try first just to see how it goes.Okay, it's SUPPOSED to be tight. This is the compressed style of rash guard, not the loose fitting t-shirt style. It has plenty of stretch to it and once I got in the water and started swimming freestyle (front crawl) laps I realized the shirt was fitting as intended. It keeps everything in place and it's snug, because it's compressed. So if you order one and you try it and think it's tight as all heck, give it a wear or two in the activity you bought it for and you may find it is the right size and that the size does match what you'd choose for a t-shirt. I wear XL t-shirts, the XL size of this top turned out to be just right. If you're just buying a rash guard as more of a UV protection for your back and chest, consider buying the loose fit style and not the tighter compression style. This top is more for lane swimming, open water swimming in waters that aren't super cold, etc.EDIT Nov/2019 - some wan**r knicked my rash guard from the change room instead of handing it in to lost and found so I had to get a new one, have lost a little weight recently and got the LG instead of XL this time, once again initial fit seemed like maybe I got one size too small but by the time I was in the pool it was perfect. This is really a great item, virtually no drag either.
