these steps are nice and wide but I find they are a little flimsy so i had to reinforce the steps with Stainless Steel angle brackets. they are solid now but the steps are still a little thin for their purpose, they should have used a thicker plastic. Overall I am happy but for the price i paid I expected much better quality.

It was easy to assemble. Some planks didn't snap in all the way and mallet hammer didn't help much. Took it out of pool for winter and it collapsed and that was it. Mallet hammer, super glue, nothing worked to keep it together. Waste of money. Just a bunch of useless plastic.

It was fairly easy to assemble, although it was difficult to get the pieces into each hole, but that's what makes it all the more sturdy. One piece of advice, let your sand dry out before trying to funnel it into the side panels. Damp sand is extremely time consuming to try and get into the side. Overall an excellent product for a reasonable price. We are extremely happy with the steps and the size 38". This is the third set of steps we've had in 18 years with our pool and we really like them so far.

Cant speak on longevity but I can speak on assembly and first impressions.You'll need a cheap dead blow hammer. They are like 8 bucks at harbor Freight but will not crack or marr up the plastic. You'll also need a decent drill and you are set.Number one thing! Do not use play sand. It comes damp in the bag and it will take forever! Buy a 50 lb bag of pool filter sand. it will take 10 mins to fill both sides.After filling the sides with sand everything comes together very quickly. Make sure all holes in the steps point up so they fill with water. Tap all the points of connection with a hammer until they click.On the handles they MUST all be installed pointing in the same direction. if not you'll be taking it back apart like I had to. Other than that the thing is super simple to put together. Feels super sturdy.

Although this looks like a nice ladder it is very difficult to put together. Does not stay settled on the bottom of the pool. Sand seeps out of the seems, water does not work either to hold it down. I ended up having to use 2 marble stones set on the bottom step to keep it down. There is no bottom ledge under the bottom step to place anything to hold it down. Would not EVER buy again.

I purchased these steps for our 33' round above ground pool. I received them quickly, however, we were very put off by how cheaply made it was. You were supposed to use a rubber mallet to "pop" the pieces together. The problem was the holes were not big enough for the pieces to snap into. We discovered this problem AFTER taking 2 hours to fill sand in the legs through a quarter sized hole. We "snapped" the pieces together, best we could per instructions and lowered into the pool. Steps fell apart. Pulled steps out, re-put everything together, tried again, and once again steps fell apart.These are horrible, cheaply made, awful steps. But to make matters worse, I have reached out to the company TWICE to find out how to return the steps. I will gladly mail them back, but each leg weighs 20lbs. I can't imagine the company wants to pay that shipping bill. However, with a quarter sized hole to put sand into side wall, I am not sure how to REMOVE the sand. So far, I have had no response from the company. I am out $200+ and they are just sitting in my garage. I have the two emails I sent the company saved and could find no other way for resolution.If there was a less than "1" star rating, I would have given that. DO NOT PURCHASE! We have since ordered steps through Amazon from a different company and they work great! They don't float up and they don't fall apart.I am asking (once again) for the company to respond and make this situation right.

Have had these and used them for approximately 6 weeks, now. These steps were late arriving, they were supposedly lost by the shopper. They finally arrived three days late in a box thst was open and torn all to pieces. However, all the parts were there and the steps were not damaged. But this is a shipper problem and not the seller. Easy to assemble. Easy to install although you will have to weight these things down as they will want to float. Saw suggestions in other reviews so I elected to place a couple of buckets of play sand (left the sand in original bags and placed them in plastic trash bags) on PVC pipes and this helped things but it didn't resolve the issue. So, i drilled four three-quater inch holes in the bottom and filled the steps with water and this resolved the problem of floating. I am hopeful that this fall these holes will allow the water to drain from the steps as I remove them from the pool, otherwise it will take several of us to get them out! Some of the reviewers mentioned the handrails and although they are not like the rails on an inground pool they are nonetheless sufficient for this applcation. Don't let that discourage you from buying these stairs. Great product!
