I bought this to house an amp and power conditioner as well as use the top as a work area. If does this very well. When I first got the rack I felt that it was too light, but it's well made and sturdy.

This was my worst purchase experience on Amazon in 25 years. The rack is actually fine and I would recommend it as a product. However, the manufacturer website mis-states the size by 10cm and it was too big for me to use.The English version of the Amazon page did not list size, so of course I assumed the manufacturer was correct. Before I even took it out of the box I realized the size was wrong and attempted to return it.But the local seller SOUND BOOKS (I think was the name??) in Japan refused to take it back, because the JAPANESE version of the Amazon web page had the right information. It took me about two weeks and maybe 20+ mails before I finally got my money back on this. The local seller was correct that the mistake was not their mistake. On the other hand they were ZERO help to me in fixing the problem. Further, they actually BLOCKED ME AS A CUSTOMER even though I made clear to Amazon that the local seller was not at fault. Finally, the local seller STILL HAS NOT GOTTEN AMAZON TO PUT THE SIZE ON THE ENGLISH PRODUCT DESCRIPTION, OR GOTTEN THE MANUFACTURER TO PUT THE RIGHT SIZE ON THEIR WEBSITE.I would recommend steering clear of SOUND BOOKS. They do not care for their customers at all. Also, the manufacturer seems not to care about details like putting the correct size on their website. If they can't do that right, maybe they also don't care about details like making their products right.I will never buy from SOUND BOOKS again, or from ODYSSEY. I'm also mad at Amazon but since they're basically a monopoly I don't have a choice.

So far this rack mount is awesome. I only have it about half full and it is definitely sturdy. The carpeted outside makes it look really nice when on a stage. So far I'm happy with my purchase.

Very nice studio rack, exactly what I needed for my bedroom studio. I was using an SKB GigRig before and it was taking up way too much space, and it held less gear. I really don't miss wheels on this unit, it's not so big that it would be hard to move even when loaded with gear, though in my situation, there is very little moving that is even possible in such a small space. I don't even miss the mixer top on the SKB, since I can place my 14 channel mixer on top of the Odyssey. This is a "studio" rack, after all, and is meant to sit in one place. This Odyssey studio rack is not made to be dragging out to gigs, you should look for something else if you need to constantly transport your gear. I'm very satisfied and recommend it for those who need a solid studio rack.

Best to start racking in the lower sections of the cabinet first and move upward. The rack rails on mine does not go to the very top of the cabinet. Be careful with blank spacers, the top spacer in my rack actually lives slightly above the top of the rails. This is the only way I could rack 11 items with 1 blank 1RU spacer at the very top. Also be advised that this cabinet doesn't come with wheel sets. I found two inch wheel sets is a must-- once loaded this cabinet is quite heavy to move, even with the carpeted bottom. Best for home studio and perhaps light DJ use. Not sure I would take this on the road full time without larger wheel sets and metal reinforced corners. The rack is simply nailed together, as best as I can tell from the bottom edge. To ensure it stays together, I added two 2- 1/2 inch wood screws to each side at the base. I like the cabinet now the strength enhancements were made and racking strategy was finally figured out.

The box was beaten up pretty badly and I had to spend a half hour picking cardboard bits out of the carpet so I would suggest they put it in a bag before boxing it. Other than that, I'm very pleased with this. It's super sturdy, I have no hesitation about hanging heavy gear on it. The carpeting is seamless and it looks sharp. If you need a 12u outboard rack I honestly don't see how you could do better than this.

This rack is exactly what I needed for my home studio. It’s rock solid, easy access to all 12 spaces and the proper angle to make viewing easier. I added and LED light to the inside so I can see all the connections clearly. It’s also attractive In appearance. Looks great in my home studio

I was trying to set up a new studio in our recently purchased house and I have all of this rack gear from various incarnations of my live rig in all of these different cases. This case is allowing me to tame a good portion of that. I may need to buy one more smaller one to finish the wrangling process. This case is well built and feels solid. It looks great and it's not too heavy when empty.

I needed to get a couple of small rack boxes that could use to mount various rack units for mixing and recording, and got 2 of these. These work great because they also double as a mixer table due to their height. I have both of these sitting side by side, with rack units and power supplies mounted inside, and my hard disk recorder and mixers sitting on top. They are sturdy, and the carpeting is nice. There's no wheels on the bottom, so they don't roll, they may or may not be a good thing depending on what you need to use them for, but I don't move these around, so I like that they don't have wheels.
