Worked for less than 24 hours and failed. Clicking sound, no starting. Big job to replace item in the engine, had to do it twice because of this cheap part. Would not recommend. Purchased a Bosch starter from NAPA and it is working great.

I didn't install it, my nephew did, but he didn't have any problems with it and it's working well, so no complaints. Great price!

I installed this starter from the BOTTOM of the car, leaving the intake manifold in place. (Search YouTube for "2008 honda crv starter drop and swap".) This approach is definitely doable with a little patience and persistence. (Also, on older cars I tend to break every third electrical connector, which is another reason - besides significant engine disassembly - why I didn't want to go in from the top.)Here are a few observations from my experience. You can remove the ping sensor with a 1-1/16" socket instead of a 27mm socket.Detach the anchors for the lower wire harnesses to make room for your work.Important! Use a mechanic's mirror to visualize and memorize the exact location of the back bolt (between the starter and the intake manifold). Use a deep socket (without a 3" extension) for the back bolt. Use a quality 3/8 in ratchet with fine clicking action to maximize rotation for breaking the bolt loose. Also manually position the rotation of the socket to maximize the rotation. You'll need every bit of available rotation to break the bolt loose. Once the bolt is loose, use a pnumatic ratchet wrench (if you have one) to *quickly* remove the bolt. The same can be used to quickly screw the bolt all the way back in - AFTER getting it properly started with a manual ratchet (to avoid accidentally crossthreading the bolt.)You'll probably want to buy a few new plastic body fasteners to replace those that you broke while removing the plastic skirt.Love my new starter!Good luck with your project!

I had purchased a Napa starter at $250 and it was a rebuild. For the price on this I decided to take the gamble and purchased it and returned the Napa. The build quality is good, the configuration is spot on and it has an abundance of cranking ability, speed and torque. I have started my vehicle about 50 times and am still pleased with it. I rated the ease of installation low because it has ZERO to do with the starter but more a function of the car it is going into. Other than that it fit well, flat and the geometry was exact.
