I bought this to supplement my schwaben one when I was removing the transmission on my bmw 850i. I needed to lift the front of the engine, while the schwaben lifted the back.Initial review:came with 2 lifting screws and chains. The bar wasn't quite long enough to reach the sides of the car where the fenders are bolted to the frame. The BMW isn't exactly the widest car I have had to do this on. I think this support bar will only work on smaller cars or cars with some sort of strong support inwards of the wheel well/fender.The other issue I have with this is that the mount points on the ends are kinda short. so you won't get much lifting distance. It could be that they assume you would lift the engine from 2 sides at the bottom, but my engine lifting mounts were on top, so I only had a few inches of lifting.In comparison to my schwaben bar that one was taller and wider, but only came with one lifting screw and chain.Overall I think this engine support bar would be perfect for people working on small cars with small engines. probably I4 or V6, maybe a V8. It worked for me on my V12 because I had 2 bars to do it and some crafty geometry using the 2. I don't think this would well lifting a truck motor. I guess depending on the truck but your not gonna be resting the engine on the side fender walls of the frame. Truck engines are gonna be heavier. My V12 is ~500lbs. any truck motor is gonna be more than that with accessories attached due to the cast iron.All of the parts. The bar, screws, mounts and other hardware are made out of quality steel construction. I just don't think its wide enough to mount properly on bigger cars/trucks. otherwise its a good support bar.

It's hard to use, the problem is the rubber feet are hard rubber and slide easily until you get some tension on it. Also when you tighten the bolts the cross member stills wobbles on the legs. Maybe if I had help setting it up it would have been O.K. I'm not the kind of guy that loses his patience, but this made me toss four-letter words around. Ultimately it worked and supported the engine just fine.

This is a well made product, the footings are adjustable making it easier to position the support. Come with chains so you do not have to go out and buy some. the only thing is the decal on the bar came off as I took it out of the box. It is not something I need to I am not too worried about it.

Handy tool to raise or support engine, transmission. Frees up my floor jack. I was removing oil pan and could not get a cherry picker in front of car. This engine support bar does the job.
