Once the removal tool was set in place, with a couple of turns from a socket wrench, the pitman arm popped off like nothing after trying to use a wedge tool and a torch to try to remove it.

It broken when attempting to pull pitman arm. One the the sides bent and warped the screw. Now it’s a paper weight. This company makes good product this one just sucks. I ended up renting one from auto zone made by the same company but this puller was just a bit bigger and it did the job amazingly.

Got the job done, but I had to grind the forks down to get them to fit in behind the Pitman arm.

As others have stated, one of the bolts has a "button" on the cap of it preventing the use of a socket, which if you're reading this you know will be needed for those well-stuck-on pitman arms. The other problem that I encountered, was the gap between the feet was too narrow to allow the arm to be placed in correct position to be used. I was working on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with the original factory arm & center link in place. I even tried to burning out the rubber boot on the arm to gain a little more clearance with no luck. While I believe this is a good tool and will work, it did not for my purpose. Since it was a loaner tool I could not alter it be grinding the feet down for more clearance. My only concern then would be if there is enough material left of the feet to provide adequate support without breakage.

Worked but needed some modification. The hex on the screw has a forged 'button' on the end preventing use of anything but an 17mm open end wrench. Can't use a box end wrench or socket, why it's designed like that I have no idea. The open end wrench just slipped and rounded the hex given the force needed to get my pitman arm off, it was stuck good.I ground off the button on the hex so I could get a socket on it. An impact wrench and socket zipped the arm off in seconds. The tool itself held up fine, no breakage.
