The OM System 12-100 F4 PRO has exceeded my expectations. Perfect range - 12mm wide angle landscapes to 100mm close-up shots with great magnification and close focus range. It works beautifully with the OM-1 Live ND and Starry Sky Autofocus functions and is a perfect match for my OM 100-400mm wildlife lens. The in-lens stabilization is excellent. Autofocus with the OM-1 is impeccably sharp throughout the lens zoom range. Easy to carry, fits easily in my kit and everything I was hoping for in an MFT lens.

This is a beast of a lens in size and performance. This lens was originally launch in 2016 under the Olympus brand. This lens now has the OM SYSTEM branding but it’s still the same exact lens. This lens has the pull back manual focus clutch. Some cameras allow you to disable that function if you find it annoying or if it keeps accidently getting engaged. The zoom and manual focus rings are buttery smooth. This is one of the few OM System / Olympus lens that has image stabilization, and it works like magic on the higher end OM System / Olympus bodies. This lens does have a programable function button as well. Some may argue this was and is one of Olympus best made lens. Optically it’s a fantastic lens and the build quality is also excellent as one would expect from a PRO lens. It has a great zoom range and a very close minimum working distance which is great for macro shots. The only major con for most people is the size and weight of this lens. The only thing “Micro” about this lens is its micro-contrast, otherwise it’s a very large lens by Micro Four Thirds (MFT) standards. The size is approaching Full Frame (FF) lenses as it’s almost the same size as my FF Tamron 28-200mm lens.If you’re a MFT user and want a great travel lens with a huge zoom range, then you can not beat this lens. So, while it is a beast of a lens, it will always have a place in my MFT lens line up thanks to the performance it can deliver.

Although it's larger than the 12-40/2.8 Pro, and a stop slower(f/4 vs f/2.8), I find that the extra reach and the 'Sync-IS' make up for it. As an all-purpose lens, it's tough to beat. Having shot full-frame mirrorless cameras in the past(Canon and Sony) I don't find it that large or heavy, and it balances well on my OM-1.

This lens is a Beast! Great pictures, easy to use. Matched with both my M5II and M5III AND the camera bracket, this lens can be handled easily. That said, this lens is also HEAVY. Not a big deal if you are also carrying a camera bag and can change lenses. I say Buy It! You won't be disappointed.
