Does exactly what it should, and looks good doing it!

The chain catcher is whichever color you select. However, the screw needed to install it is silver. So if you install it in an S5 for instance, you have to remove the factory Black screw and use a basic silver one which throws off the whole aesthetic. Kinda defeats the purpose of the whole idea!

Item snapped into 2 pieces after about 3 months of light use. Garbage quality and waste of money.

So the seller was nice enough to give me his thoughts on using on 1X. I purchased a m5 slotted barrel bolt and used the rest of the hardware and mounted to my old front derailleur mount, and now I have a chain catcher on my 1 X Gravel bike, will do the same with my one 1X road and crit bikes.

Adjusted catcher close to chainring so chain couldn't slide in between catcher and chain ring. But when pedaling, there's enough force to push the chain against the catcher causing it to flex enough for the chain to fall through. Problem when that happens - there's not enough room to move chain back onto chain ring without unbolting catcher and moving it out of the way to allow room for chain to come back onto chainring. Unbolting catcher may also move the front derailer since it's the same mounting bolt. If you don't have the correct tool to loosen bolt, bike will be out order. Allen tool for the mounting bolt is a must if using this catcher. Catcher appears to reduce but not eliminate chain drop.

Looks like a perfectly fine product. Looks good, has all the hardware you might need included. Not a universal fit, however. The long straight part is too long and straight for my frame. My bike has a beefy bottom bracket area that starts flaring out as you go down the seat tube. That means this straight section gets pushed out away from the seat tube and puts the curved catcher part basically into the cogs with no room to adjust it back. This would work great on at more typical bike with a straight tube all the way down to the bottom bracket. Just check your frame for compatibility.
