I bought the Maya bicycle trailer for a self-support trip around Lake Michigan this summer with friends, 1100 miles. On several training rides, the Maya trailer worked great. The bag was large enough for my tent, sleeping bag and gear. The single wheel design followed perfectly. But the best feature is the kickstand. My friends’ trailers didn’t have kickstands, and they were constantly searching for a tree or building to lean their bikes against. With the Maya trailer, I was able to stand my bike along the road or in the middle of a parking lot. Looking forward to an awesome trip around the lake this summer!

Initially I gave this trailer a good review but now after only a few seasons of using it its falling apart. I'm a road rider so not rough on it I mainly use it for grocery items as of now the top welds on both back corners have separated and the fender holder has snapped off .these are parts which actually take no stress when using the trailer so I'm very disappointed and have lowered my rating as over time it has not held up under normal use

I just purchased my second Maya Cycle trailer, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! My first Maya trailer, which I bought back in 2010, has been an absolute workhorse over the years. The durable design and reliable performance have made it a must-have for my cycling adventures. One of my favourite features is the ingenious kickstand design. It works flawlessly without needing any springs, making it both simple and effective.Even after all these years, my original trailer still works great and is as sturdy as ever. I decided to purchase a second one as a Christmas gift for a fellow cyclist. I know she's going to love it just as much as I do!Thank you, Maya Cycle team! If you’re considering buying a bike trailer that’s durable, practical, and thoughtfully designed, the Maya Cycle trailer is absolutely worth it!

Information was WRONG. Does NOT FIT rear bike frame to E-Bikes. I'm going to take a CHANCE I can get the trailer frame spread another full inch at a local car repair shop. If not a total loss. The REAR WHEEL is cheap, the hub had to be reassembled due to poor packing of the bearings. Had to purchase a higher grade TIRE and PUNCTURE RESISTANT inner tube. ALSO, if you do decide to purchase this trailer based on your bike, I HIGHLY recommend you purchase a heavy RUST PROOFING spray and finish. The paint job on this trailer is VERY POOR. I don't see how they justify (not very well made) the price of this trailer, crazy.

At all it is a nice and well designed bike trailer. It runs pretty confortable and reliable.Comes with a very nice manual. The only negative point and the biggest troublemaker is the bag. It ripped off in the ziper sew in the 8th day.I'm completely lost right now because I'm in the middle of my Canada bike travel and I'm not able to carry on my trip because the bag ziper, like the pictures.I'm disapointed with this situation and need help to solve it ASAP.

I dont know when this trailer became a 300 dollar trailer. I bought 1 in 2013 it was 50 bucks and came with same red bag (which was poorly made but did its purpose) and the quick release skewer nothing was made of plastic and the wheel was decent quality I still have it and its been a great trailer. but from what I'm reading in the reviews now it seems to be junk after reading these reviews if I were buying it now I would go with the BOB trailer for the same price and better quality. its kind of sad they had a good product then cheapened it up and raised the price 250 bucks

Hi MikeThanks for shipping out the trailer Monday, got it Thursday at noon and set it up that afternoon. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and it fit on my bike no problem, even with having an electric and gas motor back there. Took it out Friday as the temperature was a balmy +1 C. Rode into town with a 5 gallon water jug to fill at the local store, and with it empty I didn’t even feel it there. On the way back I had the jug sitting upright and a case of drinks, as well as two other bags, so 50+ pounds and sloshing water. Once I got going it followed along with no complaints, I could feel the jug (it was sitting upright) but the trailer tracked smoothly while riding back on the highway travelling just at the edge of the road perfectly in line with my bike wheels. This trailer has now allowed me to do things I could only do with the car before and I am looking forward to a lot of use with it in the years to come.I’ve enclosed a picture of my setup, was so eager to try it out, I took the picture and realized after I had forgot to put on the flag!

Zipper on top of bag ripped all the way off after 3 uses. I have to return entire unit - they do not provide a replacement bag. Other than the zipper issue with the bag, it's a nice trailer.

Great product for the money. Trailer weighs in at 13.5 Lbs. "U" Trailer hitch connection to bicycle weighs another 2 LBs total weight right at 15 LBs for trailer and hitch together. Much better quality than other cheaper brands listed here on Amazon.com - don't waste your money on a cheaper trailer, you will regret it. I bought a cheaper trailer for a friend that looked almost the same and wanted to send it back, would have cost me half the price of the trailer to ship it back and a 20% restocking fee, So we kept it for parts. The MAYA is the way to go, it is a good trailer, good quality for the price and will do the job. When riding you hardly know it's behind you, needless to say when its loaded (approx 25 LBs in my case) you still have 25 LBs to pull up hill, but I found this to be much easier to do as compared to pulling the same load on a Steel bike with (10 LBs of Empty Ortlieb) Panniers. I'm currently using the Maya trailer and a Trek Aluminum bicycle combination and I'm finding this to be a lot easier than using the 33 LB steel bicycle with the panniers and the same load. This trailer is a keeper. If I was to change anything on the trailer, I would like to see a "QR" quick release on the rear tire so I don't have to carry a crescent wrench with me and my preference would be to put on a Schwalbe Marathon "16 x 1,75" high quality thorn resistant tire for touring so I'm less likely to be repairing a flat tire on the trailer on a long cross country trip.

I am planning a cross country bicycle ride from Bangor, ME to Bangor, WA. So, I will update my review after it has been on the road for 3,500 miles. After spending nearly 2 days looking at different bike trailers, one-wheel, two-wheel, different ways they attach, weight, agility, etc. AND watching youtube videos of each one. I decided to go with the Maya Bicycle trailer for a few reasons. One of the big reasons I picked Maya is the price of course. I have used 2 other expensive bike trailers, and found the Maya to be just as superior (if not more so) than some of it's competitors, and for half the price! The Maya is also, slightly more light weight than the other trailers, which probably shouldn't matter if your loading up with groceries or bikepacking.I think the features of the trailer will be really useful on my long journey, I already don't know how i would be managing the awkward disconnecting of the trailer with the kickstand! The kickstand on the trailer holds everything upright, even your bike! SO, you aren't always needing to find someplace to lean everything up against, or having to lay your bike down. Which also makes for VERY easy quick release. Then, when you have been riding all day and are to tired to carry your gear, flip the arms around and use the 'wheel barrow' feature to wheel your gear over to camp. The only other big thing I noticed while using the Maya, is the turning ability. The other expensive trailers use a 'V' type arm to connect the bike to the trailer, which I think limits it's ability to turn. You would notice, turning, the arm will stop against the front of the trailer, and you have to take wider turns. The Maya trailer has a single arm, not a 'V' shape that connects the bike, so it seems to give it slightly more clearance over the frame of the trailer, and helps it turn better. Just don't overload the trailer. I threw 50 pounds of lifting weights on the first ride, and it rode like a ghost! But I could feel it in some of the turns. All in all, i am a pretty picky person when it comes to my gear, and I think you WILL be happy with this trailer around town for sure! I will let you know how cross country goes! I Leave August 2015.
