This U-lock offers excellent security with the X2P Double Bolt Locking Mechanism, which locks the shackle on both sides. The 11-13mm hardened steel shackle resists cutting, prying, and jacking, and the Z-Cylinder is bump-proof and resists picking, pulling, and drilling. The rounded design with a centered keyway eliminates pry points, while the double rubber-coated crossbar cover protects paint and finishes. Extra thick molded end caps offer additional protection against bumps and hits. This lock includes 13 laser-cut keys, 1 with a micro-LED, and an all-tube mounting bracket.

I got it because people said it’s quite good and lightweight and because someone wrote that because it’s so small it makes it difficult for the thieves to cut because it’s so small there is a little room to put the tool they use. The downside of that is that it’s also difficult to use in some places - especially with thicker poles.I regret I didn’t get a slightly larger lock.

This is the second bike lock that I bought from this company. I’ll start by saying the actual lock is great! It has lasted a long time and is very sturdy and secure. It does really well and I’m happy with it.However, the clip that attaches it to the bike will break. It’s not if but when it will. The reason why I bought a second one was to have the clip to attach it to my bike, I was tired of swinging my pack back around and putting the heavy lock in my backpack.Great lock, clip that will break. Luckily it wasn’t while riding.

Seems nice and solid. Bike will not be left unattended for long periods of time but I still want it secure. It is easy to use and also not too heavy - that was important for me.

Awesome product, great features and feels like it's indestructible. The multiple keys are great and convenient and the mount is sturdy and great. Compact design means you don't even notice it when riding. I figure, anything that needs an angle grinder to get through is going to be pretty good protection in the inner city.

The lock and accompanying cable have been in use by my son for just over six months now, without failure of either piece. He rides his bike back and forth to high school several times a week, and has had no incident. The U-lock is on the smaller side (but is heavy duty), which creates greater security, but also equates to less flexibility. This is not a con for the product itself, but may make it less attractive for those looking for a larger U-lock offering greater flexibility without the need for a cable lock. When used in conjunction with the cable, there are a number of possibilities to secure your bicycle in almost any situation. One drawback is that the included mount to attach the U-lock to the bike frame is among the flimsiest I've encountered in all my years of cycling. It stays in place well on my son's frame, but cracked and broke completely during a routine ride home from school, sending the lock falling to the pavement. To the manufacturer's credit, they responded promptly to my email request for a replacement mount, asking only for a picture of the broken mount, and had one in the mail to me within a couple of days. I'm taking a star off the review of the product because of the mounting system, but I'm giving customer service for the manufacturer an A+.

I needed something that was light, but strong, and didn't take a lot of room, and, most importantly, was a small enough hook that I could use on my scooter without the scooter being moved around to escape the lock. This works like a charm. I still only use it sparingly to park on the street since a $500+ motorized scooter is a target for many. But when I need to use it, it's perfect and the cover for the lock is key if it rains or something. It's much better than other u-locks I have for my bike. I'd actually buy a similar one for my bike- just a bit larger so it can be more versatile on what poles I can lock it on.

So I just bought a second one of these (for my front wheel -- still using the first one) after three years of successful use, and I thought I'd finally leave a review:Pros:1) Strong, sturdy, and was never breached over 3 years of city biking in high-bike-theft areas.2) Can stand HOT, humid summers (Louisiana) and FRIGID, snowy winters (New England). My old U-lock (MasterLock) flash-froze one winter, causing the key to break off in the lock. I had to cut it off myself with an angle grinder in ridiculously cold temperatures, after which a bike mechanic suggested OnGuard for temperature durability. He was right.3) Small, so is very out-of-the-way when snapped into the bike mount. I now have two of these mounted on my bike, no problem. (I hate dangling them on the handlebars or putting them in my bag, so this is convenient.)4) Comes with five keys, so you can be sure to always have one on you, or multiple back-ups if you lose it, or if multiple people ride the same bike, etc. One of them has a handy LED light, but I don't actually use it. You might?5) Can withstand quite a bit of rain and won't rust or jam the lock. If the key ever has a little too much friction while turning, some WD-40 will clear that right up. I've re-lubricated my lock twice in three years -- opens and closes like butter.Cons:1) Small, so not appropriate if you frequently lock your bike to big things like trees or thick railings. I use mine almost exclusively to lock my bike to proper bike racks, and there's been no problem there.2) The mount comes loose after a year or so. Grab a screwdriver to tighten it up, then it's good as new.All in all, a great value. Much cheaper than Kryptonite or some other brands, but quality (more so than MasterLock, by my experience). Pleased to have two of these.

I think we have 4 of these now. After a string of bad luck at the little league field we decided if it could move we were going to lock it up.I can't tell you how good the lock is, but it was fairly priced, easy to use, comes with many keys, and everything we locked up is still there. So I guess its a good lock.

Impressive design. Looks tough, feels solid, keys/locks work smoothly. Came with more keys than my car, one that lights up nicely at night, and a code to order more. Fell off my bike on one my my first rides but I'm new to this sort of thing and I blame myself more than the clip. So heads up to other newbies, if you attach the lock to your frame while riding, test it on rough terrain to be sure it will stay in place. That is a testament of how solid/heavy this bad boy is. I imagine myself using this 'mini' lock in some sort of action scene. This will undoubtedly save my life some day.

Perfect sized lock. Strong and but not too heavy. Takes a beating and still going strong. Mounting brackets make it super easy to mount it anywhere on your bike. Gives you the piece of mind that your bike will at least put up a fight to any would be thieves.Love it so much I bought a second one for my brother in Vietnam which is notorious for bike thefs. So far so good.

Replaced an older lock that still worked, but "donated" to a friend who needed a lock. I like the short-length locks. This one works nicely for me. The frame mount is one of the better ones I've seen, but it still rattles like crazy, so I removed it and carry the lock in my ever-present pannier. The cable is short, but functional.
