This is exactly what I needed to replace my current onguard bracket. It worked like a breeze

I should have known better. The first broke within months, the second one broke within weeks. It's cheap plastic, bad design, and won't last you a year. It's too fragile to hold what it's supposed to hold.

2 problems. The first is that you really have to crank the metal mountiung screws so that it doesn't rotate around the bike, and you'll never get that quite right, so you'll always be fussing with it every time you want to put the lock in the bracket. Those screws will be exposed at the ends and will catch on your pants when you're riding. Second problem is that eventually the clip will break off as shown in the picture. I just don't see what other option there is except to continue buying another clip. Super frustrating.

There is ONLY 1 positive criticism of this U-Lock bracket: it's cheap. But here are all the reasons why the price point reflects the quality (or lack thereof):-The brackets that "hug" the frame of the bike are held on with 2 screws. No torque value is provided for installing the screws. Too loose and the bracket rotates around the frame post when you attach/remove the U-lock using the spring-loaded release clip. If you screw them in too tight, the cheap plastic brackets crack.-The spring on the release clip is very rudimentary. After a few attachment/removal cycles of the U-lock, the spring weakens and the U-lock rattles with every bump.-The "slot" opposite the spring clip is too weak and brittle. After a few attachments of the lock, it will inevitably fail. This is a catastrophic single point failure (i.e. attachment bracket becomes unusable and needs to be replaced). In my experience, the failure most often occurs as you are attaching the lock in place (that's the best scenario). If this slot weakens slowly (i.e. slowly progressive fracture), you could end up in a situation where it fails while holding the lock in place as you're cycling. Depending on the location where the bracket is attached onto the frame, you could injure yourself or damage your bicycle's components.-The bracket is significantly worse in cold temperatures; brittle, cheap plastic becomes too weak to support the weight of the metal U-lock. I ride year round in Chicago down to temperatures of -18F. One or two replacement brackets I bought failed after less than a week of daily use. Conclusion: if you don't mind spending the $8 for frequent replacements, it's the only bracket around for Onguard U-locks.

I already had the U-lock which has a spline that goes on top of the U-lock rod. If you don't have that spline on your U-lock and even if it does it might be of different size so that will make this bracket useless for mounting the U-lock. I have one from previous U-lock from Onguard itself but still it has problem fitting within the mounting space. Not the best design. They should have sent a spline attachment along with the bracket for it to work properly. Also, the bracket doesn't look very sturdy.

This product is awesome as long as you’re not rough with it. If you aren’t careless about how you attach/detach the bike lock from this, it will be fine. Mine has lasted me well over a year at this point.

Fast delivery. Looks exactly like the one that came with the lock when I originally bought it.

The Onguard clamp bracket is the best bike mount I've used. It holds the lock securely in place, the lock releases and attaches easily and, unlike the Kryptonite mount, I don't bang my knuckles every single time I take the lock out of the mount. It gets bad reviews here I think for two main reasons:1) Despite the claim, it doesn't work equally well with all Onguard U-locks. I've found that it works great with the Pitbull Mini DT only. Other Onguard U-locks I've owned have had slightly narrower mounting hardware around the shackle. This makes it so the lock rattles a lot in the mount when you're riding and I think leads to premature breaking. Only guess why Onguard doesn't fix this on the cheaper U-locks is cost, but it's pretty annoying. I've got two locks at home that are basically useless to us, just because I can't mount them properly.2) Even when you're using the lock with a Pitbull Mini, the durability of the mount isn't the best. I've been using these for quite a few years and find I'm getting somewhere around 18 months on average before part of the clamp cracks or breaks off. I'd love it if it lasted loner of course, but I figure $6-$7 every year or two for the convenience of never forgetting my lock or having to carry it in a bag is worth it for me.

This is a great bike lock holder for the OnGuard Pitbull until it wears down. It allows you to clip your lock to your frame and ride off, and I like it. Its only issue is that the plastic wears over time, usually two or three years and it makes it harder for the spring to secure your lock on your frame, and the screw positioning the lock starts to loosen after a couple of years of cycling leading to the need for this replacement product. That is why I bought this and it was my second time obtaining a replacement.

This product is useless. Doesn’t fit with some onguard pit bull locks as stated.
