Haze has been used in Japan for centuries to make wax for Warosoku (wa = Japanese, rosoku = candles). Haze is also known as “Japanese wax tree fruit” for its excellent qualities as an ingredient for making candles.
  • The wick is made of Japanese paper (wash), Igusa grass and cotton, which are all sourced locally from Nara, Japan.
  • Handmade using "Tegake-seiho", a traditional Japanese candle-making technique wherein wax is applied in layers around a wick.
  • As these candles are entirely plant-based, they’re less likely to drip and release soot. The larger and brighter flame burns slowly and provides a gentle glow which creates a calming and soothing effect.

These Warosoku (Japanese candles) are hand-crafted in Kawagoe, a city in Saitama. Warosoku are made using the ancient Japanese technique of “Tegake-seiho,” wherein the wax is applied in sequential layers around the wick.

It is totally different from other candle.Candle wick is thick and the flame sit still strongly and confident.When the flame is almost gone, it still present the beauty of the last life..This candle gave me a message how life is…It’s not just a candle.. It is great tool to maintain your energy and harmony.

These candles are smaller lthan I had expected, but they are still very attractive and burn quite nicely.
