Bought this to replace the old freewheel that came on my Raleigh Backalley. I wanted something with more engagement points as all my other bikes have at least 54 points of engagement. The 108 points make pedal engagement nearly instantaneous. One item to note is this freewheel is noticeably louder than other options out there. I like the sound and it gives warning to people walking of where you are so as to not sneak up on them, so it's fine with me, but something to keep in mind.

Works great, solidly built, used it for a few months, but holy cows is this thing loud. It's Monsoon season in South Phoenix/ Tempe AZ and it sounds like my bike is freewheeling Cicadas buzzing to the humidity and heat.

I was initially on the fence about ordering this product. I’ve heard great things about Origin8 Hornet, but there were a lot of people describing it as very loud. Well, it certainly isn’t loud. I have ridden mountain bikes for years and the rear hubs on all my mountain bikes have been way louder. In a nutshell, this freewheel has great engagement, making it easy to get that front wheel up and it’s not loud enough to scare the neighbors walking down the street or make all their dogs bark!

I bought this as an upgrade for my Single Speed/Fixie. I had previously been using a $10 junk freewheel and the difference in performance and build quality is totally worth the price difference. The freewheel is incredibly solid and the machined sprocket is perfectly centered on the center of the axis unlike most cheapo freewheels. This let me get the perfect tension on the chain without super tight or super loose spots in the pedal stroke.One thing that was surprising to me and may be a turn-off for very casual riders is that the resistance on this freewheel is pretty crazy. I assume this is because of the number of engagement "pawls", but if you love coasting on flat land this will slow you down a bit. If you're coming from a fixed gear to this then you'll feel right at home pedaling along with it on the flats. I like it and the instant engagement from those extra pawls is awesome.Another thing to be aware of is that this thing is loud. Some people like that, some don't so there you go. If you're used to the noise from a fixed gear then you may need ear plugs.
