Ortofon OM Qbert Premounted on Sh-4 Headshell

How to replace a stylus
Firstly lock the turntable tone arm, unscrew the cartridge, gently remove the stylus from the cartridge and insert a new stylus. A stylus is changed usually by pulling straight out and in the opposite direction of the turntable's arm. If the stylus doesn't come with directions, try these: with one hand, hold the cartridge to steady it. With the other hand, using a pair of tweezers, grasp the stylus from both sides and pull. Install the new stylus: holding the stylus from the top, press it gently into the space at the tip of the cartridge where the old stylus had been. Don't force it.
Proper care comprises of the following:
Cleaning of record by means of carbon fibre brush before and after every use. Cleaning of record by using record cleaning machine once in a while.
Cleaning of stylus by means of a fine antistatic brush. Please remember to remove dust from the diamond tip before and after playback of each record. Use the brush in the forward direction from the rear of the cartridge towards the stylus tip and never from stylus tip to the rear of the cartridge and never from side to side.
Proper adjustment of antiskating, azimuth and tracking force.
Single Vs. Pre-mounted
Ortofon's OM Series of DJ cartridges are available in two versions: Single or Pre-mounted.
The single version is just the cartridge and does NOT include a headshell.
The pre-mounted version includes a headshell and the cartridge is already mounted to it for easy installation.

Great needle; however, The needle did not come with the QBert logo on the head shell. Not a biggie, but would have wanted it. Took Way too long to receive

This is a good not great cartridge, I find it lacks midrange and a somewhat narrow sound stage.Having said that I installed it on a 1997 Numark tt1700 and and I play loud music and for my purpose it sounds really GOOD.I do recommend this to my friends for it's price point and relatively GOOD sound.

Well worth the investment. I had concerns in the beginning if it would work on my Denon 300f straight tone arm. Plays like a charm. I’m still trying to get use to how it looks as it glides across the vinyl. Great for home listening so don’t let the “DJ” moniker fool you.

Man what a difference a better stylus and shell make. I have a audio-technical shell and stylus and it played pretty good but this one.. well wow. At a little over 11mV's it plays louder than the A-T and it tracks so much better. Yea sure you still going to hear some pops and crackles, depending on the Album, but it sounds so much better. I set it up with the tone arm at 3grams and it does well at that weight. I wold recommend this to anyone that has a set up but wants a little more out of it. I have all my stereo gear out in the garage mated up with a Sony receiver, Technics turntable and BIC Venturi speakers, which sound great alone, and I can wake up the neighbors should I want too. All in all a very good buy. Id do t again in a heartbeat. Thanks for looking.. Just Buy It! It looks as good as it sounds.
