I have been saying this for years, but Remo's quality is nowhere near that it was in the 90s or even early 2000s. While these heads may sound good and look cool, they dent extremely easily. Also, they seem quite thin for an Emperor. I usually go for Evans or Aquarian these days, but I wanted a full set of Ebony heads and these fit the bill. Yes they do sound nice, but after a single gig I had multiple dents. I'm no noob either, I've been playing professionally for over 20 years. Also, Remos cost more than Evans, so I'm not exactly sure what is going on with Remo, but I've also noticed the coated heads loose coating extremely quickly.
