Coleus is one of my favorite plants as it is decorative whether it's flowering or not. I enjoy them indoors and outdoors. The seeds are tiny. Grains of sand tiny. Fortunately they have a high germination rate from which I propagate seedlings.Moderately priced. This intentionally yields a "crowded" crop from which I take 3 inch cuttings. Next I remove leaves on the bottom half of the cuttings. The places where the leaves were connected to the cuttings are now "nodes". Next I soak them in water for a few weeks in medium/low light until they root at the nodes. Once rooted you can either keep them in a vase or plant them in a soil mix.Good luck!

Very high germination on these seeds, but they are 90% or more Green and Purple Coleous. The pic showing great variety is miss leading. I have maybe 5 green only Coleous. Lucky for me I like purple so these work for me.

So for the good. I would say more than 90% of the seeds were viable and sprouted. And they are definitely coleus seeds and are healthy. For the bad news. Out of a packet of 5,000 that were sown (have not started the second package of the same seed mix) there is not much of a rainbow. About more than 95% appear to be limelight coleus. With a handful that are either trusty rusty or watermelon (still a little small to tell which yet and is probably a split). And none of the darker colored ones at all. So that was a big let down.So is OK and germinates well, but definitely not a rainbow mix as advertised. Unless you consider a handful of different ones a mix (I don't).
