I got these based on the title description saying they were for use with a propane torch. Not being a welder I assumed that meant a handheld propane torch like you solder pipe with. I did manage to get the brazing rod to melt with mapp gas, but couldn't get the material hot enough for the welding rod to stick.

I could not get these to work with MAPP gas. The Amazon page suggests to also buy MAPP torches with this product but the listings details clearly state you need an oxygen torch. I have used other Aluminum brazing rods with my MAPP torch with good results. These brazing rods are also much thinner than the other ones I have used. I'm giving it 4 stars until I can get a better torch to better compare how these do.
