It works as advertized, but the locking function seems a bit useless. I don't think it does much for me, I'm squeezing the handles of the opener to hold the can steady anyway.For comfort, I bought and like this opener:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NXMDPS1

I tried two other highly rated manual can openers ... and returned them both ... before purchasing this one. It checks all the boxes: doesn't pop out of the track, easy to turn, the lock actually LOCKS and it has a good weight to it.

This is the old style. Hard to find. The newer style is one handle and I donated it. It never worked well. This one is easy to set up on the can, turns easily, always does the 360 degrees and has no edges in the end.

Due to severe ligament damage and developing arthritis in my thumbs I had been struggling to use my can opener without suffering sharp pain. This opener allows me to open cans without pain and very little effort. Highly recommend to everyone, but particularly those with some degree of hand use limitation.

My old Oxo can opener lasted through thick and thin, can lids, for over 12 years. It was time for a new one. I purchased the one that was visually identical to mine. When I got it, it is different in subtle ways, both the handles and turn crank are better sculpted for the hand. It was more comfortable to use than the old one. I am very happy with it.

This product I actually used in Hawaii and it made me run home to Washington and order as it was one of the best we’ve had it locks onto the product and opens the can easily and it’s easy storage and cleanup

This frankly wasn't the design OXO opener I was looking for at the time, but I am quite satisfied with it. It's even easy for my wife (who has Parkinson's Disease) to use.
