The price of this made me hesitant ordering it to use on my small hotplate barby, but it appeared to be just what I wanted so I went ahead - I wish it wasn't such a good feel in the hand or wasn't such a perfect size, that way my wife wouldn't have nabbed it to use in the kitchen! Hopefully when we go off touring I'll get it back to use on the little barby as I intended. Very happy with the OXO Outdoor Silicone Camp Stove Turner but think I should have bought two!

Wonderfully made spatula. I know its marketed for outdoor use but I've been using it exclusively indoors. OXO makes great products and this is no exception. The silicone is heat resistant (to a point) and I love how the rod is metal (with an easy heat resistant grip). The spatula part is great for delicate ceramic coated non-stick pans as it doesn't scuff nor scratch. Great product!

Heat resistance: handled a 6 foot charcoal grill during a tailgate, so it can definitely take the heat.Sturdiness and durability: perfect. I consider a tailgate charcoal grilling scene to be a true test of an abused spatula. it held up alongside metal turners just fine.Non-stick properties: non-stick pan with a bit of bacon grease (environment) this turner handled over easy eggs for 6 people easily. great.Handling: Flexible yet rigid, has a comfortable feel in my hand.Size and shape: solid 'middle of the road' size turner with a large turning surface area.This thing handled burgers, eggs, and hot dogs with ease.It was also very easy to clean after the tailgate inside, and it's dishwasher safe, so it got the right cleaning when i got home

I'm not one to go camping, but I like the compact size of this turner. I like that it doesn't take up a lot of space in my drawer. But, it's plenty big enough for flipping eggs and child-size pancakes. It is made of durable silicone and stainless steel, and it feels comfortable to hold.This would have been great if they had just left off the red hoop. It looks cute, but it creates some holes and gaps between the silicone and stainless steel. I would be more comfortable if this was tightly sealed. I don't know how well that part will hold up or if it is sanitary. And, while the fabric has some tiny relective specks, they don't make this catch the light or make it more noticeable to me. I don't see much upside to this versus one with a metal loop, so I have to recommend against it.

As an item meant more for portability, this does offer lightness, though not that much in compactness in terms of size. It's plenty sturdy owing to the curved structure of the handle despite the lightness, however.The silicone end has a nice bevel for better sliding under food, but the silicone is a bit uneven in one corner, which I had to carefully cut off with scissors.The loop fastener is.. okay. Not sure how well it'll survive many trips through a dishwasher, but I'll update the review if anything.Biggest minus for me are all the grooves in the handle between the plastic and metal parts. Over time, these will definitely accumulate dirt, despite how well it goes through the dishwasher. For sanitary purposes it'd be ideal to have a seamless design with less room for potential bacteria.Overall it's a good turner if you're looking for something very light.

This is excellent for camping (and at home). The spatula size is really nice. Adequate enough to flip an egg and just the right size for silver dollar flapjacks. Our camping and ice fishing gear is small. I can’t afford the space for large griddles and pans. This is awesome for the 8in cookware that I typically pack and use. I like the red tab feature so I can hang it. It makes it convenient vs laying it down where a woodland creature can nab it.5 stars really nice and durable that it can be used in your kitchen year round as well.

Because this is marketed for campers, I'm sure the narrow width is to make it more easily packable. And the loop for hanging is because you don't want to put it down on the ground, so hang it on the grill. But I do agree, that when you put this in the dishwasher the loop gets wet, but it does dry out eventually. Of course if you are camping you don't usually have a portable dishwasher with you. Wondering if it will be a little moldy under the handle where you can't see it. The tag says: compact shape and high-heat resistant construction built for camp stove cooking. Reflective hanging loop is easy to spot in crowded kits. Stainless steel; safe for all cookware. I am a big fan of OXO products.

I'm really liking OXO's outdoor kitchen collection, and this turner is every bit as good as the other tools in the lineup. Wet or dry, the handle always feels secure in your hand, and the steel construction feels very sturdy. The turning head's edges are flexible and beveled, which makes them great for both flipping and light scraping.The flat part of the head is relatively stiff, so there's no worries about unexpected bending or dropping things. The turner is dishwasher safe, though I'm not sure how well the rope loop will hold up to repeated washings. I'll update this review if any issues come up, but for now, I'm very happy with this flipper.
