It works great for troubleshooting with a buttset. The terminals allow you to clip in holes for a more robust connection. The removable cord allows for replacement when worn. I highly recommend it.

Good for toning out cat 3 with RJ-11 or RJ-12 connectors. or used with a lineman telephone to find what pair has a dial tone without having to cut the cable

This is a great modular adapter. The copper terminals does not have the hole like the Fluke version, but it does have a notch so the clips have something to grip onto. It also cost about half the price of the Fluke version.

This unit and the RJ45 version are incredibly useful for testing and troubleshooting. It seems to be well made and should last for quite a few years in service. Its a real time saver! Its already cut down on troubleshooting time and in many cases have kept me from having to disassemble a wall jack to trace a problem.

It does what it says it does, and is will made. It comes with a handy diagram that explains how the three possible pairs from one 6-contact RJ connector correspond to the six pairs of contacts on the gadget. It cooperates well with clip leads from a test set.

After using the old style adapter for many years, this was a gift from the Telecom gods. Better quality, and easier to use. My only problem was the price, just a little bit high, but even higher at a retailer. Other than that, I'd definitely reccommend it.
