A Symbol of Respect
Chapel veils represent a whole range of things: a way to emulate the veil-wearing Virgin Mary, an experience of "authentic femininity" that sets women apart as specially blessed bearers of life and a reminder that she and all members of the church are to consider themselves brides in a symbolic marriage to Jesus, whom the Bible sometimes describes as a bridegroom.
A Symbol of Modesty
Throughout early Christian culture, the veil was again seen as a symbol of modesty.
Today the use of the veil is considered a visible act of modesty and humility. A veil is not worn out of guilt, or as an act of subservience, or out of shame for feminine beauty, but rather as a sign of reverence and surrender to God’s will.
The Significance of the Veil
So covering the head stemmed from cultural custom as well as early Christian tradition. It was carried over as Catholic tradition for the same reasons. However, the significance of the veil has since changed from the cultural tradition from whence it began.
How should I clean my veil?
All lace veils may be hand-washed cold with mild soap and laid flat to dry. If stiffness is an issue after air-drying, wet the veil slightly and run it through your dryer's delicate cycle with a fabric softener sheet. Cool iron if needed.

This mantilla is very soft and comfortable to wear. so far I only wear it at home during prayer so I don't move around much wearing it, but it seems to stay on well even without being pinned in place.

Got this for a costume, it comes with little combs to hold it in place, but I just used 3 bobby pins which seemed to work better for me. You can see out of it relatively easily, and it just looks cool. Great addition to a costume box, or if your husband accidentally dies at the hand of your lover on the top of a Yacht on your 15th wedding anniversary to the Almafi Coast to rekindle the spark your CFO of Peterson Finance Co millionaire husband first ignited when you saw him across the college coffee shop when your heart was broken by local tough guy with a heart of gold who left you pregnant at the alter only to surface again 14.5 years later to finally meet the daughter who tragically died of cancer at the age of 4 but also to make amends for all his past digressions and you and him chat over coffee in that same coffee shop where you first saw you loving husband who is very kind and loving but the past few years of work in addition to the realization he might be sterile and hasn't told you has been weighing in on him for these past 6 months and wants to rekindle the love for he suspects you of cheating but he will fight for you even though you haven't confirmed you are pregnant with your lover's baby and in a horrible boating accident your lover who will inadvertently serve your husband a clamato instead of a bloody mary thereby causing your husband to have an allergic reaction, tripping over a towel and plunging to his death on the yacht's rudders and there by you now have a veil to wear to the ceremony

Is absolutely beautiful, it's very soft, the size tends to be a little big but nothing to be concerned about. If you need to wash your veil, wash by hand and lay down to air dry. DO NOT WASH IN YOUR WASHER OR DRYER MACHINE.

A great prayer veil but I have to use hair clips to keep it falling off. The veil is a continuous piece of lace fabric so you cannot tie a it …if you are happy to place it on your head and arrange the veil than it’s excellent.

For a few months, I had been discerning whether or not to start veiling for Holy Mass. I had been looking at other infinity veils, but they were just too pricey for my budget. I also wasn't sure if I was going to have the courage to actually wear the veil, so I didn't want to spend too much money. I found these beautiful veils for less than $10 each, so I gave them a try. Boy, oh boy am I thankful I did! I veiled for the first time on the feast of the Assumption of Our Holy Mother, Aug 15th... They are light, delicate, and feminine. I sewed on the small hair clip that is included with the veil. I like that once I put on my veil, I don't have to fidget with it, as it stays in place. These veils are exactly what I was looking for and at such an amazing price! Thank you!!

It's very pretty, but the size of the opening is almost a little too generous. I had to pin it on my head and towards the bottom so that it didn't gape awkwardly.

I can see why women use this for wedding veils, it's so beautiful. This comes with hair pins and a comb to attach it to your head so you're not fighting it to stay put. I love that and wouldn't have thought of needing them til it would be too late. I'm using this for a gypsy costume for Halloween and I'm excited to wear it! Kinda wish it wasn't an infinity scarff style, wish it weren't sown into a circle, but I guess I can cut it apart? Risk ruining something so beautifully made and elegant.... Hmmm. We'll see. Worth it!

I bought this for my son's baptism and it was perfect. The lace is very pretty and so easy to put on. The only thing I recommend is putting it in place with some bobby pins as it kept slipping off 😅
